Eta?

Hey guys. I ordered the iMac 27 with the following specifications on Dec 24. When can I expect it?

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X8GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 675MX 1G GDDR5
APPLE MAGIC MOUSE
Apple WL Kybd+User's Guide-S
COUNTRY KIT-ZH

I went into my local Apple Store Christmas Eve to get an IPhone 5 for my wife and when the sales guy asked if there was anything else I needed I joked and said a loaded out 27" IMac.
He said "be right back and came out with a I7 1TB Fusion GTX680M and only 8 gig of ram.
It is now on my desk.
Moral of the story. Check your local store. They get restock often.

I was just told that nothing but the stock models would be available in store - i.e. no Fusion drive. Glad to hear the red shirt was either misinformed, or just trying to get rid of me. He talked me out of buying the 27" they had in stock.

Ordered new 2012 (21.5 w/fusion) iMac on 12/14, received confirmation today that the order was shipped and expected delivery on the 26th.

After 20+ years with Windows will feel different on new OS.

After years, like yourself, I switched to a MBA in June and thought to myself - why did someone not tell me how good these are, now I am awaiting a 27" iMac to be delivered imminently - I am such a convert, just wish i'd done it sooner.

Enjoy:)

Brilliant!! :)

I didn't know Apple Stores had customised models, just the base models. That's worrying as I might be passing one today :D

New iMac

Hello everyone:

I just ordered a new 21in iMac and dedicated some extra funds to upgrade the base a little bit. Went with the i7, 16G of ram and fusion drive. Should have it in a few days.

It's replacing a Dell dimension that I bought almost 10 years ago, so it was time, for sure.

My most heavy usage I anticipate over the next two years will be converting AVCHD video for regular DVD usage.

I welcome any advice on utilities I should consider, but I really could use some advice on what editing/authoring software I should use. Would like to stay 'affordable,' if you will.

Just ordered my new iMac!! It will be replacing a 2006 MacBook so I'm really excited! :D

Ordered the following configuration and I'll upgrade the RAM myself:

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5
MAGIC MOUSE+MAGIC TRACKPAD
Apple Num Kybd(Eng)+User's Gd

It still just says "Shipping in January" though.

And now we wait...

Finally received my 21.5" iMac refurb today. I had such a bad experience with FedEx. I won't even go into the details. Amazingly I would have been able to get it in less than 24 hours from Cali all the way to Ontario, Canada. However, they made several mistakes and were unable to really make good on their promises to fix them.

In any case, this baby has a 2.8Ghz core i7 processor. I won the Apple lotto. I got the 2 TB HD instead of the 1 TB and I ended up with 8GB RAM instead of the standard 4GB. That's 2 slots of 4GB each. So, for just about $100 I can slide another 8GB in the remaining 2 slots.

It couldn't be better than that. I hooked her up this afternoon and she's a thing to behold. I inspected it from top to bottom. Not a scratch or a dead pixel to be found. Got her for $40 less than the entry level 2012 21.5" model. So, I consider this great value.

Could not be happier. FedEx can go where the sun don't shine though.

Cheers all!
