Nice! I have the same config ordered on Jan 1. I'm wondering what will happen because I've since had to cancel the CC i placed the original order with. I would think they'd contact me to get a new card number rather than just scrape the order?

I was going to do OWC for my 32B RAM upgrade. Who's everybody else going with?

I got my 32GB of RAM from Crucial. I'm still a little shocked that it was less than 200 bucks.

:)

iMac 27"
Quad core Intel Core i7 de 3.4 GHz, Turbo Boost de hasta 3.9 GHz
32 GB de SDRAM DDR3 de 1600 MHz - 4 x 8 GB

Yes I know I could buy the extra Ram cheaper but I live in Mexico in the middle of nowhere..:)

Good evening to you all.

a whole lot cheaper . I guess if you got it like that then go for it. me, I would have saved the 600.00 bucks and applied it towards the 768 GB Flash Storage . but that is me. Enjoy your new Machine.

I've never used them before. yeah, looks like about $30 cheaper than OWC. Pretty significant. This may be a dumb question, but do you think all aftermarket RAM upgrades for Apple are pretty much the same, and should just go by price?

True but 2 things happened, first I tried to locate RAM here in Guadalajara and couldn't find any, and secondly went on line and no-one was prepared to accept my Mexican Credit Card on line..

Don't get me started on the costs either ...

How did you get those specs? I thought they were available only online….
That's the one I want.

If you go to a store and you look at the models they have, I know for sure the one I picked up is the highest they will have in store. Unfortunately, they can't upgrade anything in store. But look at the iPad beside the iMacs and it'll let you compare the models. Most likely the ones they have on comparison on the iPad is what they'll have in stock. I just got lucky with this being the ONLY one in stock at the time.

I just ordered my New iMac to replace a older 24 inch iMac March 2009 3.06Ghz model. It was time to give this one to my wife. She does not want a new one. Silly girl. Oh well Win Win for me.

My configuration:
3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive (No Fusion Drive)
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5
MAGIC MOUSE+MAGIC TRACKPAD
Apple Num Kybd(Eng)+User's Gd

I do plan on upgrading the Ram to 32GB either through Amazon or OWC.

Ordered on Jan 15th about noon here in USA. Wonder if it will ship faster since I did not want the Fusion Drive? Or Take Longer. It states that it will be delivered between Feb. 11 - Feb 19. I hope it's faster.

I do lots of Video Editing and I often reformat my Drive when it gets overloaded at times. Therefore I opted out for the Fusion Drive. I read too many people are having too much trouble with the Fusion Drive filling up too fast. If if had a 768 Flash Drive along with a 3 TB 7200 RPM Drive then I might have got the Fusion Drive but for now this setup will suffice for me. I am not caring about boot up speeds so much, but rather overall Performance when I need it. I will have that with the 3.9 Ghz turbo speeds and with the 32 GB ram and 2 GB ram on the video I will be good to go.

I remember having to wait for the model I ordered in March 2009 and it was like 6 weeks wait. Wow that time went so darn slow back then. I hope it goes faster this time as it's about a months wait.

I'm back in the iMac camp. Did order 21" then canceled, ordered rMBP then canceled and now ordered 27"
Took another look at Apple store and BB. At BB they had all three next to each other so I got a real good feel for how they all compared. 27 screen looks better than 21 IMHO, and the retina MBP is nice, but having all that screen area is pretty awesome on the 27. I have other devices for mobility and need a hub Apple computer.

Ordered Jan 14th, i7/8gb/fusion/680, delivery 2/8-2/15. Let's make it sooner! ;)

I'm not an expert on the matter, but I would think they would be the same. The RAM would have to conform to the same specs, no matter the manufacturer, right? That said, my new iMac is supposed to arrive on Friday. I'll definitely post here if I have any trouble with the Crucial RAM.

pulled trigger on...

27"
i7
680...

now the wait for delivery...

after i get it home i'll max the RAM, and think about a getting the TBD to turn it into a 2 headed monster ;)...

Yesterday I bought a 27" i7, 680MX and 3TB Fusiondrive. I'll add some RAM later, if needed. It should be at home in 4-5 weeks, but Apple has already taken all the money :)
I hope that after all this waiting time, it will be perfect.
However, whatever happens, joining this support group will be helpful!

Have just taken delivery of my new 27" i5 3.2, 1TB Fusion, 680MX iMac

Ordered 4th Dec, moved to Preparing for shipping 10th Jan. Shipped the same day. Had a few days been lost in Germany UPS depot but all well that ends well. Can't wait to fire it up.

I ordered my new 27" Base with 3TB Fusion. I consider myself a Mid-Level user so the RAM can wait but I know I will upgrade it in the future like what I did with all our iMac's in the past. LOL

Hopefully it gets here earlier than the estimated 2-3 weeks.

I also got the Apple Care, my last two the HDD crashed.

I consider Apple Care a no-brainer, especially given the poor score from iFixit for repairability. If you're going to invest the money in a good machine, you want some type of insurance on it.

I just got 'Preparing for Shipment' today on my order. Wonder what the timetable is for delivery on Western Massachusetts. Ordered my 32GB of RAM from crucial this morning based on the posts in here. I should be good to go.

27-inch iMac
With the following configuration:
•3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
•8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
•1TB Fusion Drive
•NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5

I concur on apple care, especially when you can purchase it through a 3rd party authorized apply reseller at the time that you ordered your imac at a savings up to 30% off the apple pricing.
