Nothing wrong with that config at all. I got the 3TB fusion on order, but thinking about changing to the 768 Flash, and then manually installing a 3TB Sata drive after. Just not sure about opening that bad boy up! lol

iMac's before the late 2012 ship with a pathetic Toshiba SSD that is like 4 years old and has horrible R/W speeds. Return it or replace it

When my apple store gets the 21' iMac in stock I will be picking one of those up. Are they all out of stock at your apple store as well?
 
Just Ordered top of the line iMac 27in, are they made in USA now?

Hey guys i just ordered the new 2012 27in iMac top of the line and was curious to know if they are Made in Usa now?
 
Designed in Cali, Parts made in China, and in some cases assembled in the USA and other cases China. I don't know the definition of assembled, but it could be as little as putting the final touches on it...or a certain % of the assembly. I read Foxconn is building a factory in the USA... so I wonder how much "reshoring" Apple will do.... just enough to be PC or make a real impact in the US jobs market. I hope it's a big impact, the USA can use the jobs.
 
I ordered a 3.4 i7, 680 2gb, 3tb ATA with 8gb of ram on the 4th Jan.

Jeez I thought waiting a week for my MacBook Pro back in 09 was unbearable. I need to use y'all as a support group for this long hall. My status is still 'processing' and my dispatch date still says January. Sure hope that's accurate!!!
 
First Imac experience :D

Not so much a discussion, just wanted to share some joy in between the issue threads.

got my first mac a couple of days ago ( 21.5 , 2012 version )
and i am so pleased.

gone are the days of windows errors and endless updates, everything is so polished and easy.

allthough without the fusion drive, i find it very fast and problem free, and so quiet! i have to put my head right next to it to hear the fan.

i can never go back to standar lcd led after IPS screen :3

Congrats Sorvind! Totally with you on this. I purchased my first Apple last year - 2011 MBP 13 inch. Love it! Very happy with how the computer works and like you, no viruses or arbitrary crap on my computer. Was so happy with it, went out and purchased a late 2011 iMac 27 inch for home.

Macs just work. Period. Enjoy your new toy! :D
 
Ordered my new Imac today with AppleCare delivery date says 11th of feb do they really take this long only this is my first apple computer and I am a little bit of a kid when I come to waiting. I don't know anything about imac I hope they are not hard to get on with :0)

Nice! I have the same config ordered on Jan 1. I'm wondering what will happen because I've since had to cancel the CC i placed the original order with. I would think they'd contact me to get a new card number rather than just scrape the order?

I was going to do OWC for my 32B RAM upgrade. Who's everybody else going with?

May want to call them and have them update the CC. All they did was do a pre-authorization charge of like $1 to make sure the card was valid and funds were there. About a week before it ships, the card will actually be charged and that's when things generally get rolling.
