The iPhone 11 is definitely the better looking phone aesthetically but some will pay more for oled and that extra camera.
What’s better looking about the 11? The huge square minus a lens looks weird to me.

This is a perfect example of a lazy excuse for terrible design. No one cares what the back of an iPhone looks like, because it’s in a case anyways for the majority of customers.

No sure why all the crowd cheered when Apple announced all those boring features
And why does looks matter - it is function that counts.
RP…have you missed my camera bump rants here on MR since, oh I don't know, September 2014 (the launch of the iPhone 6/6+)?An iPhone is a practicality device, not a piece of artwork that needs to be displayed on a wall for everybody to look at. No one cares what the back of an iPhone looks like, because it’s in a case anyways for the majority of customers. It’s really interesting to see how frantic others fret over the little things about how an iPhone looks, but everybody else in the real world just uses it as a tool every single day without issue.
Better than google pixel camera ?If it’s the best camera on a smart phone could care less if it doesn’t look as pleasing..what the camera does will be far more important to me.
I use the camera in my job so it is very, very important to me. My iPhone Xs does a better job now than my $1K Canon lens, so having an even better camera is thrilling to me! I don't care what the darn phone looks like .. function over form. You need a camera that just happens to have smartphone features. If the camera manufacturers ever figure out how to make their cameras do that Apple is in big trouble with you guys that only care about the camera.

Looks matter when function is already achieved.
Not all of us need a bazillion MP camera that can take perfect pics from space. Some of us just use the camera on our phone so our wives can see what item on the shelf at Walmart they want.
99% of the pics in my camera roll are that. And any old phone can call, text, surf and email.
You have a use/need for this because of your job and Apple gives you that. Great.I use the camera in my job so it is very, very important to me. It's funny though. This sentiment gets brought out a lot.It looks fine and I don't care how ugly you think the back looks....just like 99% of people in real life won't care.
People only defend it cause it’s apple. So that means you do care! I appreciate your honesty!
Looks are equally as important as function. If design and aesthetics weren't important, we'd all still be using something like this:

Exactly, the camera housing on the X/XS is more consistent and aesthetic. It's probably more robust too. Now that the 11 Pros have FOUR (4) camera bumps (including the camera housing itself), that whole area is more prone to build up but worse, damage. Four bumps means four times the chance of it catching or brushing against something and potentially breaking.
Also, four times the eye sore. The camera area of the 11 Pros look really cheap and something that looked slapped on. They seem so obtrusive and out of place. Not very Apple in my honest opinion.
Interesting theory and very believable!

My point is that not everyone (myself specifically) has a need for this, but in the past Apple has been able to provide both.
Lately, they are more aligned with your opinion.

No one will care, or variations of that.
Yet most people lay their phones face down (I don't). So you see the back. A lot. Unless you have a case of course.
But even the major news media has commented on the camera bump.
I'm not sure this argument is going to hold water for too much longer.
