Yep, same here, truly looking forward to iOS 13 on my XS Max

Busy running Public Beta 2 iOS 13.1 on my iPad Air 2, and I am thoroughly impressed.8

I really like the video editing tools in iOS 13. Practically anything you can do with a photo you can with a video.

Aside from the new camera bump 2/3 lenses depending on model it looks virtually the same as the previous models. And you're not staring at the camera 99% of the time. So I don't get it. And if you get any kind of case for it it'll blend in.

There's no "bump" when it's inside a case. Perhaps you have the $$$$ to carry around a $1000+ phone unprotected but most people I know don't do this.
Actually, I don't have the $$$$. Which is why I keep a phone for 3.5 to 4 years. But I don't use cases.

I do have methods however. One of them is SA (Situational Awareness) however. Spatially I know where my phone is. I handle it with two hands when transferring and I'll put it away in a pocket or down in a safe place if I'm going to be active or around crowds (that can bump you and cause you to drop the phone).

When I put it down it goes either in a business card holder on my desk (facing me), a business card holder on my nightstand, on the arm of the chair I sit in (living room) or in one specific spot inside my vehicle when driving. If I am out, it will be laid down only on surfaces that are clean and do not have contaminants or something will be placed underneath it.

I cradle my phone with two hands when there are moments of activity around me and when using it I hold it in such a way that dropping it is unlikely. I usually use my phone with two hands. I'm not one of those people that one-hand their phones.

Finally, I confirmed a theory a while back where case-users are more likely to throw their phones around. Sub-consciously they've been reassured that inside a case their phone is protected. So they are more likely to throw it around because of that reassurance. Who is more careful with their device then? The caseless or the case-user?

I am not saying this is you or even all case-users, but there is a segment out there like this.

Now everything I've described tends to be way more work than case-users want to invest. Slapping a case on is just easier because it allows your brain to rest in the knowledge that you have 'protection'. That's a way out, rather than developing these habits so they are second nature.

Since 2009 when I got my first smartphone I have cracked exactly one screen via a drop. And yes, I have dropped my phone. I won't deny that. But the habits I've developed allow me to go caseless.

Do a search here on MR. You'll find me in multiple threads about 'naked' phones and not using cases.

I think it's pretty awesome that you have developed a system so you can use your phone caseless but for me that just seems like a huge PITA. I'm not saying it's bad for you because if it works and you're happy with it then that's awesome. I agree that having a case allows a person to and could cause them to be more careless with their phone. Even if I were to attempt a caseless approach with a system such as yours I would at least put corner bumpers on the phone.

Awesome, sounds promising. I haven't tried the beta but am really looking forward to this one.

Please tell me you use a screen protector at least? Too expensive/risky for my wallet personally.

This is a huge feature I cant wait to use.

After looking at these videos of ALL the new stuff coming, It just looks awesome.
(Long 43 min. video FYI)

And then the "hidden" features. If some of these are already known, sorry for the double post
--Could be more YouTube "iOS 13 hidden features" videos, I have to check. Whatever the case, this will be a great update. BUT, as always I will wait a day or 2 to update to see if any major bugs, flaws affect the phones.

No, no screen protector.

Funny story in that though. I did have a screen protector on my old 6+. I mentioned I cracked a screen and it's the 6+ I did that to.

I dropped it getting into the car (one handed it and of course it fell). The way it landed cracked the screen but left the screen protector entirely undamaged. It was useful to protect my fingers from the cracked glass until it was replaced though. :D

No it wont. Its like having a really ugly face and trying to fix it with a hat.

Considering this is an Apple centric discussion board, it's quite surprising to see the amount of 'Yes' votes on the poll.

Goes to show how drastically different opinions are on the iPhone 11 Pro.

The iPhone 11 Pro is like marmite, you either love it or hate it.

The camera module is pretty creepy and gross

The rest of the phone is fine but those notches are looking dated and not aging well either

I think like some, if you say no you gotta say what the ugliest iPhone is instead!

I think option3 should’ve been “don’t know”

I think most would agree beauty is in the eye of the beholder, hence the polarization

To me Ive appears in this photo like : “what legacy did I leave behind??”

Is that Lauren Powell Jobs too behind the phone? She looks... sad

Na that would go to the horrid antenna lines of 6/6S
The antenna lines did ruin the look of an otherwise beautiful looking phone with the iPhone 6 and 6s (which they redeemed with the 7) but the whole camera array and different levels of humps and bumps, and the large size of the whole camera housing makes the iPhone 11 Pro look really cheap and uninspiring. The square camera area is too large and takes too much space making the whole phone look awkward and incomplete. No wonder why Apple moved the Apple logo downwards to the centre, because originally it was too close to the large square camera array and made the area look too busy.

For comparison:

Ok, some don't care and that's fine...some like myself think the design is just sloppy
I always said..hoped they would go with the 3 camera, vertical like a traffic light. The big square just bugs me to death.

Now THESE are ugly cellphones!

apple cant do anything else but update the camera? this is a phone not a camera, improve the important things like form factor ergonomics, sjobs would never release phones like this with bunny ears display and a block sticking out of the back, what a joke
