Apple has no interest in moving this date before. Iphone 14 plus does not have any complex components compared with 14 pro/PM, so the delay is not justified by any means. It’s only to avoid cannibalization with expensive models.
I've been saying this since I saw it was the only one delayed. I wouldn't put it past Apple greasing the FCC's palms to delay certification.

A week to go!

Shall we start a new thread for the 14 Plus or use the existing USA Apple order page thread?
It’s the same I was thinking about. Total amount has been charged today in my bank account. So maybe we can receive some units before expected??

A dedicated thread for the Plus would be nice.

I’ve been waiting and looking to see someone mention they’ve gotten charged. I wonder if I’ll be getting charged soon too?

The wording has changed on my order details page from saying: We've received your payment information and we're preparing your order.

to saying this:
We've received your payment information and are preparing your order. We provide a trade-in kit so you can easily ship back your current device. It will either come in the same package as your new iPhone or it will be mailed separately.

So seems like progress has been made.

On PDD (one online shopping platform known for cheap stuff, but apple products receive heavy subsidizes on launch day) in China, the 14 Plus has a 70 USD discount (official price is 983 USD for 128G and 1110 USD for 256G), and is available for preorder. I bought an official silicon magsafe case (succulent color) with the launch day subsidize and some bankcard discounts for 235 Yuan (~ 33 USD, official price is 56 USD in China)

I am upgrading from 7 plus because it's just so freaking laggy now. I went to try the new ones at Apple store and settled on the normal iPhone 14 mainly because I just mostly use web browser, youtube, notes, etc. Only have few apps in addition to the default ones. Initially I was thinking of the Plus version but when I tried the 14 pro max, I felt that in some situations the big size is too uncomfortable and that the 14 screen size is fine.

I guess nowadays I could even buy Oppo, Samsung or something like that but I am already deep in the Apple ecosystem and the other similar phones have pretty much the same price so why bother. Hopefully get 4-5 years out of this.

For portable gaming I have nintendo switch which actually has good games.

Weird situation in China tho.

In most cities with an Apple Store, you can still reserve for a store pickup on launch day (7th Oct), but not for my city (Chengdu). The first batch of online delivery time showed 9th Oct, which will be 2 days after the launch day, because 7th is a holiday in China and Apple won't ship on that day.

Most people don't think the 14 and 14 plus are going to sell well, maybe that's why the delivery time for the new orders has changed from 9th to 18th~20th Oct. Been cutting manufacturing lines?

In Thailand it's the same. 14 can immediately go pick up, 14 plus on Oct 7 at release. For pro models 4 weeks wait

In Hong Kong, the delivery date for iPhone 14 Plus is now October 14-17. It's clearly slipping from what I can see as Oct. 7 is not a holiday. It's normal to see the 6.7-inch devices slip first across Asia as the demand is much higher.

Full blackout ends usually on day of first delivery or at least the night before.

Retailers just waiting for the green light.

They’ll dumb down the features of the regular iPhone further next year to make it cheaper and increase the price of the Pro and wonder why people still aren’t buying it. Apple lost serious touch with world economics this and last year.

What metric are you using?
The metric of the iPhone 14 going up in cost in comparison to the iPhone 13 series and the lack of incremental updates to justify the price hike. Articles on here have suggested the cost may go down this year for the regular iPhone and the Pro to increase further, but Apple will likely remove certain features to justify any drop in cost and perhaps we will see another release where the regular iPhone is less desirable. Raising the cost of all models was never going to be popular in the middle of a cost of living crisis.

I was seriously considering this phone before it was announced. However, the lack of the new processor and a third camera lens, plus the $100 price hike over the regular 14, totally kills the phone. For $200 more (iPhone Pro Max), you get the newest processor, better screen (pro motion, brightness), much better camera, etc.

For an iPhone Plus to work, it needs to have the same processor, add some kind of zoom camera lens, and probably be $100 less. Honestly, the iPhone 14 line should have been $699 and $799.

I was seriously considering the 14 Plus until it launched with a starting price of £949. Sadly the 14 Pro Max wasn’t just £200 more here so the 13 Pro Max became a more attractive option. It ended up being slightly cheaper than the 14 Plus.
