i made this concept on gimp, it's supposed to be like the ipod touch with a interface that i made by my own, theres own with just the music feature and one with the music and photo watching feature, in the last one you just flick through your photos:
Actually, that's what I've heard. The 2nd Gen iPhone will be in the Touch's form factor... or maybe the iPhone Mini...
made a new one, with the feature that your album art comes as wallpaper full size when you're listening to music, this feature could also be set, to let it be the wallpaper for when you're seeing the clock when it's locked, and so on, :
transparent bars, volume comes up when you slightly tap once, seeking through the song comes up if you tap Twice. the time in the middle of the black bar and with a wifi icon, it also support the feature that if 2 ipod touches are close to each other you can share music, called Wifi Share.

About Wi-Fi share... It's a bit Zune-ish but I'm shure apple will come up with a way to share music unlike the zune.
it's a little zune like, but it's also ment to send documents, photos, short films, bookmarks, ....

not oops, it was the my idea too not put a web browser inside, too make more difference betwen iphone en the iphone nano.
I can not really see an iPhone Nano coming with a click-wheel. I am part of the younger generation, and the thing most people do is SMS texting. How would it be possible to quickly text using a click-wheel? Bare in mind that a lot of teens don't use predictive texting.
I believe the only thing stopping the iPhone becoming popular with kids is the lengthy contract. The only problem would be very expensive data on pay-as-you-go. Hopefully though if Google win this bid for the 700mhz spectrum in the US then they will be able to provide free or very cheap wi-fi. Given the closeness of Google and Apple maybe they could strike a deal to eliminate the need of ever having to rely on the greedy, slow and uncompetitive carriers like AT&T again.
I do believe that the iPhone is probably more durable than the iPods. I just seen a stress test on YouTube, and it appears to hold up very well, unlike my old Sony Ericssons or Nokia's which would probably turn to dust when it impacts with a floor of even the softest surface.

I saw that too, but I'm not convinced that you can get away with such abuse without causing unsightly scratches at the very least.

I actually don't think Apple is going release an iphone nano.. But i liked the time when we made those mockups
i think what most of you are forgetting to add is the earpiece/speaker at the top!!!!!!!! DUH!!!!!

these mockups are pretty good... I like the one that says...small phone big impact.... that one is the most "Apple" to me at least...
the ones on the earlier pages had this clickwheel... Apple WILL not go back in time,,im sorry.... they just wont, the other HUGE problem is that they have a big HUGE SMS button on their mockup.... it will be agonizingly impossible to text on a clickwheel device without a touch screen....if they make a smaller iphone this is what im sure of...
1. It will replace the smaller capacity iPhone currently displayed in the stores and take its spot...

2. It WILL have a touch screen, or they probably wont make it, the multitouch technology is what makes it the iPhone, they liked it so much they are implementing it into like everything, MacbookPros for one...
3. It can not be much thinner than the iPhone already is.. There is a reason the iPod Touch is thinner, its because the iPhone has "phone" stuff inside it... like an antenna and a EDGE chip and all that other phone stuff...
thats just my scoop or say... I cant be certain... but it sounds like how apple works...

These pictures remind me of those 25$ mock-ups of the ipod nano. I'd rather just stick with the iphone thats out right now
