The iPhone Nano Mock-up/Concept thread

It might happen, there are "exciting new projects" to be released in the coming months, how do you know there wont be a iPhone Nano in there?
I don't know. I just don't believe in it.. It won't be very before the iPhone will only cost 100$.
According to the latest rumors, the nano will be aimed at the pay as you go market, which makes sense, coz the iPhone 3G is about £300 on pay as you go, and many pay as you go customers want something like a iPhone nano, which is not a full blown smartphone but like a mini one, including me. They (and me) just want something more basic and cheap, and as pay as you go phones are popular Christmas presents, releasing it around that time would make perfect sense.
Not keen on the idea of having it the same width but shorter. It doesn't sound very comfortable to hold.
Something narrower and shorter like this would appeal to me, either as shown with the logo's smaller (it's got the same number across but one fewer rows down) or the logo's the same size but only three across, not four. Same iPhone design, smaller screen. Sorry about the quality of the mock up, just put it together to show what I mean.

That is really cool; I really like the carousel idea with the icons in landscape mode
you guys are kidding me with these scroll wheel phones right?! Do you seriously think apple will make a nano phone based off the nano? No they will base it off the iPhone! Just like the nano was based off the iPod the nano iPhone will be based off the iPhone. Seeing a scroll wheel phone would be going backwards in design. Apple is slowly phasing out the wheel (yes they will keep iPod classic til the iPod touch can catch up in capacity and pricing), they like touch screens because they move where the new technology goes.
Here's what it may have and look like:
Looks: imagine the nano 2/3 the size of the iPhone with proper ratio proportions, same camera, maybe the chrome parts would be aluminum to differ more from the iphone. Make it the thickness of the iPod touch with a curved plastic back in all colors of the iPod nano, maybe bolder.
Software: no data plan, why? Because people want an iPhone but don't want to pay $70 a month minimum for a phone say for there kid, so make the nano wifi capable just like the touch and only charge for minutes and texting. Now Apple has covered the smartphone and regular mobile industry which is what they want.
And to the guy who said 13-19 yr old kids can't handle a touch screen your dead wrong. Kids now a days are more intuitive about technology than the over 35 crowd

I know I am late but I was just looking back over the first through pages and the clickwheel one looks cool! However, the only way it would work on the phone is if it was a OLED clickwheel, which would be very very very coooool! However, it will be wayyyyy to expensive for the Nano.
Equally, however, touchscreen technology (or at least multi-touch, anyway) aint cheap, either.
So we shall see... I do hope there is a iPhone nano, though!

Just for fun could you do the opposite? I mean, take the exact dimensions of the iphone as it is now and strech the screen so its near the edges of the top and bottom as well as to the sides? Lets assume Apple exercises their patent that describes physical controls merged into the screen pixels themselves. Oh, and try to adjust the design so that the screen (as well as the device for that matter) dimensions is 16:9 for movies.
