Time for a new Keurig

It looks like the hard well water we have here has finally killed the Keurig. We only recently started using filtered water for coffee, when descaling became a weekly chore.

Yesterday I ran CLR through the machine, followed by vinegar. This morning it displayed "DESCALE" again. ::sigh::

All hail the K-cup!

One at home (B60), and one at work.

Not to hijack but I wonder what people's favorite variety of K-cups are...

Donut House here - travel mug size.

Mine is Green Mountain Dark Magic Extra Bold. 10 ounce size :)

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I found the flavor that, for me, makes this whole Keurig thing worthwhile: Caribou Coffee's Obsidian.
I consider Mr. McMac's pick, Green Mountain's Dark Magic, OK in a pinch. GM's Nantucket Blend is a surprisingly good medium-roast breakfast coffee for those who don't like the darker roasts.

Keurig does tea, too. Cafe Escape's Chai Latte is nice for an occasional diversion, as is Bigelow's Earl Grey.

I stay away from anything marked Tully's... far away.

I picked up a couple of iced teas for summer, they're both pretty good!

The original B70 that I bought died a few months ago (faulty pump), and they sent me a replacement. Great warranty service....it was a very easy process, and the fact that my 1 year warranty was renewed with the new machine is awesome as well.

The new B70 that they sent me doesn't have the little iced coffee icon as the smallest setting. Instead, it has a little espresso cup. I called them to confirm that the only thing that was changed was the actual icon. They confirmed it, saying that it's still the same size. The reason they had to change it was because it apparently confused customers.......they expected iced coffee to actually come out of the machine when using that setting.:p:rolleyes:

Anyway, a while back I bought the Solofil reusable K-Cup filter. It's fantastic. My favorite coffee to use with it is Trader Joe's New Orleans Chicory.....it's a dark roast, and tastes great. One can of that coffee lasts a couple of weeks, and I usually make a couple of cups with it a day.

My favorite K-Cup is still the Coffee People Donut Shop flavor.

My new favorite is Keurig Barista Prima.

Dunkin Donuts coffee comes to Keurig.

http://www.dunkindonuts.com/DDBlog/2011/02/dunkin_donuts_annou.html

From Facebook to Twitter to calls into our Customer Care line, one of the most common questions asked to Dunkin’ Donuts is, “Will Dunkin’ Donuts coffee ever be available in single-serve K-Cups?” Today, therefore, is a particularly exciting day for our brand, our franchisees and our guests, as we are proud to announce an agreement with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters to make Dunkin’ Donuts coffee available in single-serve K-Cup® portion packs, for use with Keurig Single-Cup Brewers, the leading single cup system in America.

Beginning this summer, Dunkin’ Donuts will offer 14-count boxes of Dunkin’ K-Cup® portion packs, sold exclusively at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the United States and Canada. Dunkin’ K-Cups, featuring the same great-tasting Dunkin’ Donuts ground coffee served inside our restaurants, will be available in five popular Dunkin’ Donuts flavors, including Original Blend, Dunkin’ Decaf®, French Vanilla, Hazelnut and Dunkin’ Dark®.

glad someone had a positive experience with their customer service/replacement.

on my third b60.

we are now using the MINI. i like that i can put fresh water in each time.

been using Donut House travel size. changing over to wolfgang puck breakfast in bed.

That doesn't excite me very much. I actually bought a bag of ground Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee yesterday at Target, and tried it this morning in my Solofil. It was too weak and a bit bland.

Are these even available on Amazon? Not that it matters much.....Amazon has pretty much stopped including K-Cups in their S&S program. Luckily, I was grandfathered in with the ones I had as part of my subscriptions already.

How did you come across that anyway? Are you a member of DD's forums or something?:p;)

I just picked up one from Sam's (i have to wait until christmas to open it )

Right now they have a good price on what looks like a Sam's branded B60 (Keurig Signature Brewer).

$129.98
Comes with the My K-cup accessory and 36 K-cups.

My brother received one for Xmas and I have to say that I'm not impressed at all. The coffee seemed really low quality and it was quite expensive (like 30 cents/cup or something).

I use one of these everyday (Bialetti moka pot in brown) and I sent him one to try and convert him to good tasting stuff. Usually I microwave a little milk while the moka pot is working (2 mins), whisk it when it's finished with a milk wisk and pour the espresso over it.

But, seriously, after drinking from the Keurig, I can't see the appeal, maybe it's in the advertising. I also feel the exact same way about the Nespresso stuff.

Costco had the premium model (B70) on sale for $149 (the cheapest I've ever seen it), so I picked it up for myself as a Christmas present...I'll have to wait 39 days to open it, but I've wanted one for so long.

Thread revival!

I got the B70 Platinum series for Christmas and love it! Starting to run out of the variety packs that it came with and I'm looking to try more flavors, preferably not the Green Mountain kind. What do you guys recommend as a good gateway drug, I mean variety pack, to sample new flavors and where to buy? I looked at the Amazon Subsribe and Save options and was not too impressed with the selection. Thanks!

Try Big Cat Coffees, you can build your own sampler box.

Yeah, Amazon basically wiped out every good K-Cup option from S&S. Fortunately, I was already subscribed to a couple of flavors, so I was able to keep those subscriptions. If I cancel them, bye bye for me too.

I use this thing more often than K-Cups. That way, I can use my own ground coffee instead of the limited flavors of K-Cups available. I highly recommend getting one. FTR, when I bought it, it was only $13.50. I don't know why the price is $29.99 right now.

I think mine came with a reusable cup similar to what you posted, though I'd have to check. I can see using this down the road, but I'm enjoying the ease of use of the K-Cups right now.

Strange that Amazon would have cleaned the subscriptions out. Hopefully, once I narrow a favorite brand, I'll be able to find an inexpensive distributor.

The big difference with the one I posted is that it fits right into the K-Cup holder just like a K-Cup. You don't need to snap the K-Cup holder off of the machine like you do with the My K-Cup or some of the other reusable filters.
