Just bougt Larobe Sleeve(Black + Wasabi) for MBA 13" yesterday and it's fix with air pretty smoothly! :D It has a fat and flexible neopren outside (for falls) and inside is really really soft.I'm very pleased with this case in spite of being looking for Incase Sleeve one.

If someone want a few pics just let me know it :) I'll do them when arrive home without problems.

Be-Ez Larobe's are really good cases, offer more protection that most neoprene case.

I ordered one of these:

I am still looking for a good, but small and slim bag for my 13" MBA. I would love to get this one, but 270 pounds is a lot. But I guess the MBA deserves a good bag. Does anyone know an alternative, which looks a bit like this one or has the same functionality? It doesn't have to be a leather bag.

Thanks! Does it add much bulk to the Air overall or is it pretty light/slim? I may just go for this case.

Your welcome :) pretty bulk indeed! I'd say almost 1cm.

According to instructions it's made from low resilience polyurethane (but it looks like neoprene) so if you press it it's sinks but passed a few seconds recover it's position. So you have an impressive feedback in case of fallings hehe

Also it has this tissue below the zipper to avoid entering in contact with mba and really fits like a glove, very very tight indeed :)

I finally found a bag for my MBA, just ordered this one from Thule. Should arrive tomorrow.

I might take some pictures when it arrives.

Awesome. I'm gonna choose between this or the Acme one they sell in the Apple store, so it'll be nice to hear your thoughts when you get it. The Acme looks cooler, but costs £15 more
absolutely love it. Highly recommended

I lost the perfect bag

I'm so excited about my new MBA and so sad that I lost the Muji laptop bag of my dreams that I'd accidentally stumbled upon and that seems to be out of production:

http://www.harryandsal.com/blog/2008/03/21/wear-top-bag-for-the-lap/

This is what I loved about it:
- weight. It weighed practically nothing. I already feel like even the 13" MBA is heavy for transit commuting/walking, and the last thing I want is a sleeve that adds weight
- pockets!

I don't think I need rugged protection or even a snug fit - I just want something that will provide minimal shelter for my MBA inside an other bag and be easy to pick up and go on its own (including space for the charger, and pens/phone/wallet would be bonus).

It's so frustrating that many cases/sleeves don't even list their weight on their selling pages, or you find contradictory information on different pages.

I can't believe I lost this bag! Does anybody have recommendations for a replacement?

Thank you!

Anybody have a recommendation for a hard case or sleeve? Not a hard case that attaches to the air, but just something with rigid sides to keep the air from getting compressed. I put it in my bag between another laptop and power adapter and don't want the screen to get damaged.

13" MBA in a Speck PixelSleeve

iPad 2 in an iLuv Belgique sleeve

Both fit very nicely into the seemingly discontinued Booq Taipan Shadow M bag. It's designed for the 15" MBP, but I found that the smaller Taipan Shadow S bag didn't quite fit the power adapter for the MBA and the iPad in it's sleeve and make me feel very comfortable. I know the bag has a dedicated iPad slot on the hip side of the bag, but having the extra comfort of the padded sleeve is always nice. If I do decide to ditch the iLuv sleeve, the iPad fits nicely even with the smart cover and the also seemingly discontinued Speck Candyshell attached.

Additionally I have my various peripherals like the Griffin Mini Cables, Belkin Mini Surge Protector and the always helpful Duracell PowerHouse charger. Nothing like being stuck in a data center for 16 hours with no nice place to plug in your phone. Everything fits comfortably in my Booq bag without any weird bulges or struggling to find a place for things.

The Booq Viper sleeve is a semi-rigid case. Nice magnetic closure so you don't have to push a snap or have a zipper to scratch things up. I don't have any experience with anything more rigid, but the Hard Candy Bubble Sleeve offers a VERY good amount of padding, similar to the iLuv sleeve I have on my iPad 2. I've had my iPad slide off the roof of my car onto the parking garage floor, a good 4 feet and not a scratch on it. I imagine the Hard Candy sleeve does a similar job and should be able to withstand a little pressure from books and other backpack neighbors.

I hope it isn't against forum rules, when it pertains to the thread topic, to mention my own sleeve brand — Cocones.

They're made of 100% Merino Wool and genuine leather. We have just launched new colourways this week.

Wow, those look outstanding. Going to have to bookmark this to come back when I get the 6th gen iPhone (whatever it's going to be named). I've never been one for a case on my iPhone, but a sleeve like that would be a very nice accessory. Really liking this one without the flap or any other closure. Perfection.

Edit: And from Ireland?!? Could this get any more perfect? I guess no huh...that's kind of what perfect is.

I just got the Incipio Slim Case for my Air and really like it. The Air fits perfectly in there and it will offer pretty good protection against bumps and scrapes while not being bulky at all.

Any recommendations?

Disclaimer: I have not read each page of this thread. I just upgraded from a 2007 Macbook to a 13in Macbook air. I typically use a North face Surge Backpack, but it is rather beat up so I am looking to upgrade my bag as well. I've look at the incase and Thule backpacks. I'd like something that has dedicated Mac/iPad pockets and is not too bulky. Dose anyone have some suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Anyone come across any new smaller size backpacks, suitable for the Air, iPad and few accessories? Not near as large as typical sized student backpacks?

This backpack is actually smaller than it looks. Although I am a student, it is no where near as big as all the other bags I see on campus. It has room to fit my MBA 13" with Booq Viper case and a notebook holding notes and paper, so I'm pretty sure you can fit everything you mentioned, but it is not very spacious. If you want I can post some pictures of it with my MBA for size comparisons.

Edit: Couldn't really find many pictures of this bag on their site so here are some that I took in a hurry.
empty bag
as full as I could get it
front pocket
inside pockets (only span from top half of bag up)
felt-lined top pocket for phone/sun glasses

I ordered this Thule backpack today but I'm also thinking of getting a skin for the bottom and lid of my air. Im trying to decide between the aluminum coloured iCarbons and Wrapsol. Any suggestions?

Good find! I appreciate the photo's and info, thanks very much.

One question, the outside bottom pocket, how deep is it? In the photo's it looks like not much room for anything too thick.

The pocket above it looks deeper maybe more suitable to hold normal pocket contents, like wallet, phone etc.

The biggest book (well novel) I can fit in the front pocket is a 8"x 5.5" x 1", so it's not that deep due to the pocket seam being stitched right up to the edges of the bag. It does serve well as a quicker access than the inside pockets (they are covered up by whatever you put in your bag). I usually put wallet or keys in front pocket, and when I need to my powerbrick + extension cable as well as other chargers for electronics very easily. (if you want a picture of it filled with these, let me know)

Sometimes I am too limited on what I can bring and have been looking at this

I love their stuff but it's a little pricey!

Edit: Just realized the monocase bag is for 15" :( But that might not be a huge problem for me since I use a booq viper case with my MBA.

Can anyone help me out with a new bag?

I really like this one:
http://www.sunnysports.com/prod/KLTPWJTN.html?ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=KLTPWJTN

I love that you can store the straps away and turn it into a messenger bag, and that it apparently has a lot of room for crap (I carry my MBA, lunch, a tablet, books for school etc.). However, it is a tad pricy

I like this one as well:
http://www.patagonia.com/us/product/half-mass-messenger-bag?p=48315-0-361&pcc=1128

But it's a little too sporty color wise, and doesn't seem to have a stationary bottom. Does seem like I can put a load of stuff in it though.

Does anyone know of a good fit, or perhaps that meets both half way?
