This Gameweek's MacRumors Fantasy Cup fixtures then...

Sporting Dual-Cores v Fightin' Shrooms
Telford Blues v Fabulous Boyz
Thigh High Socks v Cleveland AFC
The Stoplights v No Value
Renfrew Meerkats v Neutron Heath
FFM v Woodsmoor Wanderers
Nieval's Angry Mob v Brainerd FC
Bayern Bru v Fizzy's Flyers
Bushey Fighters v Omaha Latics
Rugby United v AFC MacRumors

Further Edit. Neither my Captain nor my Vice Captain played this week. Goshdarnit this isn't a good start

My VC didn't play either. Got a big fat zero, too, for one of positions because 4 on my team played 0 minutes. Frustrating.

Got to applaud the MR League's top 10. You are head and shoulders above the rest of us in the standings. Week in and week out you're putting up #'s. Bravo!

Fortunately, I'm in a position to challenge for the cup playoffs. That's keeping my hopes at some sort of championship alive. Watch out Average, your next on my list...

Edit: Just wanted to add that FFM's app is pretty awesome. It's come a long way since week 1. The notifications are awesome! Thanks for your hard work!!!

If you need a hand, let me know who your opponent has in their team, I'll transfer them in to my team and that's their points scoring run come to an end :)

I mean, who'd have expected the goal machine Ba to miss a penalty? How could that have happened? ;)

Now that we're into March and nearing the point where teams will begin to qualify for the play-offs, I'll start posting updates on how that particular competition is going. I'll look to make the first update after the next Gameweek.

Will do, and likewise. :D. I also have a knack for dropping a player right before they score an onslaught of goals. So you can tell me who's on your squad and I'll drop them from mine. Guaranteed success!

Gameweek 28's MacRumors Cup fixtures beckon...

Fabulous Boyz v Woodsmoor Wanderers
Fightin' Shrooms v Brainerd FC
Telford Blues v Fizzy's Flyers
Thigh High Socks v Omaha Latics

Nieval's Angry Mob v Bayern Bru

We're getting towards the pointy end of the season, and the knock-out phases of the MacRumors Cup are looming. Here then is the table as it stands currently...

*CupTable.png

As we can see, one of the eight knock-out spots has already been taken by andrewstephenso's FFM. The team are currently doing very well for themselves in the League too – could andrewstephenso be on for the double?

Anyway, well done to our first qualifier. :)

FMM_Home_1112.png

There are now five Gameweeks remaining for the rest of us to try and claim one of the seven remaining places in the knock-out phase which will begin in Gameweek 36 – and as it stands 15 teams are still in with a shout of doing just that, starting with this weekend's fixtures;

AFC MacRumors v Sporting Dual-Cores
Omaha Latics v Rugby United
Fizzy's Flyers v Bushey Fighters
Brainerd FC v Bayern Bru
Woodsmoor Wanderers v Nieval's Angry Mob
Neutron Heath v FFM
No Value v Renfrew Meerkats
Cleveland AFC v The Stoplights
Fabulous Boyz v Thigh High Socks
Fightin' Shrooms v Telford Blues

March has disappeared into the sunset, so lets have a look back at how we've all fared this past month.

League-Table_GW_31.png

Looking at the table, it's little surprise to see FFM still firmly ensconced at the top. andrewstephenso's boys look favourites for the title, but there's still work for him to do if he's to claim his first piece of MacRumors silverware.

But even this fine form isn't enough to claim March's MacRumors Manager of the Month award – that honour goes to my own Sporting Dual-Cores who clocked up 271 points for the month.

It seems that the Cores aren't going to give up their title easily – but have the champions left their surge too late?

We'll see as we head into our final full month of fixtures – well done to andrewstephenso. :)

Ah, I love the look of our kit. Gives a nice twist on the traditional vertical stripes. However, to properly reference the source of our club's name, I'd say the crest should be a £ instead of a $.

You'll have to put this proposal to the club board for the 2012-13 season, but be careful you don't get a backlash from the fans. ;)

I'll get an update sorted this evening, we should have a couple of new Cup qualifiers looking at how the results have gone.

I just noticed that you gave each of our shirts a star for winning the league. Nice touch!
Indeed, a reminder of our past glories.

A Cup update then – and as I indicated in my earlier post we have a couple more qualifiers...

34-CupTable.png

Two further teams – Bayern Bru and the Fabulous Boyz – now can't finish lower than eighth place, meaning that their places in the Cup Quarter Finals are assured. So well done to their intrepid gaffers, Coatsy and Kofi.

Well I tried to do a Martinez and push for that final spot in the cup but my mid season absence has cost me dearly. To the last three competing for that final spot: good luck.

Telford Blues, I hope you make it but I will still give it my all in this match, may the best man win.

I'm counting on you and your Angry Mob, Nieval.

I want that final spot, but the competition is fierce! Good luck everybody. Great competition this year. Win or lose, the leagues been excellent once again. Thanks, Jaffa.

Never on the field of Fantasy Cup has a decent number of points* been distributed so inefficiently. Disastrous cup campaign by Neutron Heath.

Edit - * sadly, not the number shown in Jaffa's GW34 table.

Good luck to the underdog.

Cheers,
OW

Congratulations to ALL 8 Cup Finalists!

Your spots were well earned. Tried as I may, I came up short. Good luck in the Playoffs, boys. No doubt the competition will be fierce!

And here then are the eight – plus the other twelve, all nicely arranged into a little table. :)

FinalCupTable.png

As Tilpots indicated, it was he who lost out on this occasion as his Stoplights were pipped to the post by the Fightin' Shrooms and Telford Blues – so congratulations to their respective managers pjlander and Phil A....

...and commiserations to those who didn't make the grade this year.

The draw will be made shortly and we'll find out who the top eight teams will be facing in the Quarter-Finals.

Gah – good job no one noticed that. :p
