Well, except when I cut somebody every week. They're no longer part of the family, I guess. We don't even speak of them anymore. Looking at you Sturridge. Time to find a new family.
I know, what happened there? Anyone would think I recently transferred him into my team or something

Yes, Wild Card! I need one of those right about now.

I'm going to wait until this matchweek is actually over and any post-FA Cup injuries are registered before I dip into the transfer market again.

The Gameweek deadlines are indeed flying in thick and fast now – the next is 7.30pm (GMT) this evening.

Meanwhile, the MacRumors Cup fixtures for Gameweek 19 stack up as follows...

AFC MacRumors v Sporting Dual-Cores
Omaha Latics v Rugby United
Fizzy's Flyers v Bushey Fighters
Brainerd FC v Bayern Bru
Woodsmoor Wanderers v Nieval's Angry Mob
Neutron Heath v FFM
No Value v Renfrew Meerkats
Cleveland AFC v The Stoplights
Fabulous Boyz v Thigh High Socks
Fightin' Shrooms v Telford Blues

That'll teach me for being super slack and only just finding this thread –*my team not make it into the cup?

Still alive in The Cup! Anybody else?

I played the Wildcard this past week and it paid off. I was going to keep the squad intact thru January but Ba's departure and Kompany's ousting left me little choice. I decided to invest heavy in my forwards. Hoping the payoff continues!

I'm not trying to brag, but I'm still alive in Cup action! Brag Brag Brag Brag!

Of course I would've fared much better this past GW if I wouldn't have sent Dempsey packing just 2 weeks ago, but hey, who could've seen the hat trick coming? Bravo, Mr. Dempsey! This African Cup deal sill has my team in an awkward state. I really want Ba back! And why couldn't Adebayor play last week? Contractual obligations? I don't understand. Tottenham really could've used him, especially on that beautiful Bale cross the Defoe couldn't finish.

I wish the Spurs would've taken down Man City. I didn't like that Balotelli guy one bit. Points or not, he'll never be a Stoplight!

Indeed, and your Stoplights are one of only two MacRumors teams still in the competition. Good luck to you and Kofi's Fabulous Boyz with your fixtures this week.

However, that competition does pale into insignificance against the MacRumors Fantasy Cup – and here are the fixtures for the upcoming Gameweek 23...

Bushey Fighters v Sporting Dual-Cores
Omaha Latics v FFM
Fizzy's Flyers v Renfrew Meerkats
Brainerd FC v The Stoplights
Woodsmoor Wanderers v Thigh High Socks
Neutron Heath v Telford Blues
No Value v Fightin' Shrooms
Cleveland AFC v Fabulous Boyz
Rugby United v Bayern Bru
AFC MacRumors v Nieval's Angry Mob

He's on loan at Spurs from Manchester City, the rules prohibit a loan player from facing his parent club.

Guess I need to study up a bit on these loans.

Thanks! Congrats and good luck, Fabulous Boyz!

Indeed. The MR Cup is still up for grabs and I intend to bring it home! In 7th place right now but only 4 games back. You're up next Brainerd FC!

Don't forget that at the end of the season it's the top eight teams who qualify for the knock-out phases – your seventh place would be good enough to take you through, but there's still a long way to go yet.

Just a quick reminder that today is transfer deadline day, which traditionally sees reporters stood in the drizzle outside training grounds and overexcited folk tweeting that their girlfriend's best mate's hairdresser has just seen Jermain Defoe at the railway station trying to buy a single to Sunderland.

On rare occasions though, some players actually do move clubs and this could of course affect our teams. Don't forget that we're only allowed three players from a single club in our sides, if any real life transfers mean that you have four or more you'll have to adjust things accordingly.

Time then to announce January's MacRumors Manager of the Month. With a total of 243 points for the month this accolade goes to Rich and his Keta All Stars.

The All Stars are certainly shining brightly now, but as they Plough on through the season the they'll have to keep this good form up if their Sirius about challenging for silverware...

Right, stand by your beds – time for a quick update ahead of the Gameweek 25 deadline.

In recent weeks andrewstephenso's FFM outfit have held onto top spot with a string of impressive performances, and he tops the pile with a total of 1,377 points. mouchoir's Szczesney Hawks are breathing down his neck however, but a bit of a gap has opened up between them and the chasing pack. Can the table toppers consolidate their position over the upcoming weeks and improve their lead, or can the rest of us conspire to close the gap?

Hope I don't come across as gloating here, but I just want to mark a personal victory this week as I gained the most points this gameweek, even without my captain earning too many points! All thanks to Adebayor and Assou-Ekotto really. Sure, didn't actually make any difference to my place in the table whatsoever but it's a proud achievement :p

Congrats! Gloat away! I had Adebayor as my C last week, then promptly dropped him this week. So Bravo for getting it right!

I wish I could take credit for that, but truthfully I didn't get time to even look at my team before the deadline so there was a bit of good fortune involved :p hope this is a sign of good things to come..! :)

The problem is, coming on here to gloat about a good run of gameweeks is a sure-fire recipe for your team to go straight into the tank. I know this from much personal experience.

I was worried about that, but as it's just a one-off anyway I think I'm pretty safe :D Back to averageness I go!

With February's final fixtures played, time for a quick update...

League-Table_GW_26.png

As we can see, andrewstephenso's FFM have kept top spot firmly in their grasp – but can he hold onto his hard earned lead as we approach the business end of the season?

Time too to present February's MacRumors Manager of the Month award – particularly coveted this month as it's valid for an extra day than normal. And with a total of 197 points, the glory goes to the Telford Blues and their gaffer Phil A.

But can the team keep up this electric form and azure themselves a high place come the end of the season? If so, the sky's the limit for Phil and his boys.

Well done, andrewstephenso and Phil A. :)
