Slideshow

Hi Mactrack, youve got some nice paintings on your site, nice clean looking site.
The iweb photopage is very tidy and i think would work well for your site.
Other than that you can find lots of slideshows online that you could use.
I use flash to create a rolling slideshow on my home page and then iwebs photo page for my gallery.

Good Luck.

Thanks, Domh. Love your site. I had seen it before I made my first post. So you need to know how to use Flash in order to create the rolling slideshow on your home page. Pity. I don't know the first thing about it. I wonder if iMovie could be used for that instead. Don't know that it does continuously looping clips like yours though. Re slideshows in general, there are a couple of slideshow alternatives mentioned in this thread which look good, but I think they all plug into the slideshow button in iWeb. And that button only seems to be usable in an iWeb photopage. I can't use that page because I can't format it to look like the photogrids I use in my site and I haven't been able to create a hybrid version of it with hidden photos that would just allow me to use the slideshow feature. The problem in that case is that if you hide the photos you end up hiding the slideshow button as well. That wasn't the case with the earlier ver of iWeb.

Here is another one of my iweb sites. I think I got away from the iweb look quite a bit.
Tell me what you think please. I am still working on content and I can always improve things.

Nice site Mitou. The esthetics of it really have gone a long way from the typical iWeb look. I'd be curious to know how you got the Pay Now funcitonality plugged in.

The pay now button is provided by paypal. I don't have php since I am on .ME. I got the button and used a html snippet.

She is a performer, etc....it is my first iWeb and for a performer, etc. to boot, meaning a lot of pics, and info about only one subject...her. Tried to keep it interesting and each page designed specifically to each of her specific talents.

Heya..

Sorry to sound harsh but I think the site looks very unprofessional, the font size and colors don't work.

un-iweb?

I redesign every other day. Right now it has shadows, but I rarely use them. They slow things too much.

btw. My counter doesn't seem to advance if the site is approached via a masked domain name, like the one above. It does work, though. If I enter the site via the mac server, the counter sum jumps forward. I kinda wish it would just act normal, but it does work.

Also, my magazine is actually four websites behaving as though they are one. I found that is the fastest for everyone.

Here's a screenshot from last week (with layout showing, oops):

new, new, new

Ok, I am new to forums, new to iweb, new to criticism, so be gentle- never-mind, just be honest.
I have created a new site for our surf camp. It needed to appeal to kids but also be organized so parents could figure out how to pay us ;-). I would really like feedback, if it is possible at this point. I am not interested in having my ego stroked; just looking for good ideas and suggestions.
Here is the link: http://web.me.com/cola4surf/Site/Home.html
Here is the link to our current site that I paid someone to create for us: http://colassurfcamp.com/site3.aspx
Thanks for your time everyone!

Here's My Contribution

My site's just for fun and I love using iWeb. I've had other sites where I used GoLive! but have pared back to simplicity. I can do anything I need to in iWeb. Check it out...

hey guys, i'm new to mac and iweb. i havent create any pages on iweb yet but im looking to learn more about it. all your sites are amazing. what other software do you guys use along with Iweb to build your sites ?

Check out our website for our new company:

http://www.gotgotneed.com

The opening page is very a straightforward logo, but I've tried to make the rest of the site avoid the iWeb look. It's quite Quicktime heavy, so would appreciate comments on download time etc. All thoughts welcome.

I'd love to get some simple animation in there, roll over buttons etc. but have no html knowledge. Any suggestions?

Cheers.

Safari gives a malware warning with your site. Is the warning accurate?

I haven't touched my site in a while. I created it in about 2 hours for fun and then my MacBook Pro's HD crashed the next day. I'll have to make a whole new one from scratch soon. YUCK.

Here it is as it stands though:

www.goodcausephoto.com

i'm not a technical guy, just willing to tinker until i find something that is easy and works. made www.goodcausephoto.com w/ iweb '06. hosted at 1and1.com. has google ads and i can update the site from anywhere with web accessible device (that is... i DO NOT have to open up iweb and edit, save, publish, then FTP). I have found a better way. updating site takes about 2 minutes. i update the gallery links just as you might update a blog.

FYI... galleries are linked to my smugmug account, which also took a little tinkering to get it to work with my own site, but now it is pretty seamless.

can you tell me more about the updating with out iweb and from any where.

update iweb easily

can you tell me more about the updating with out iweb and from any where.

I'm sure there are other ways, but I've recently fallen in love with sprout. check out www.sproutbuilder.com. Build whatever you want on sprout, the copy the code into iweb. for '06, you'll need use something like iwebmore after publishing the site. later versions of iweb allow you to use the html snippet feature. at www.goodcausephoto.com all of the "recently galleries" are updated remotely without ever touching iweb.

My website

I started with a template, but have been slowly working my way toward a more custom look for my photography site.

Let me know what you think!
