It’s comparing Apples and oranges though.
For one thing, the Air back then was quite a revolutionary product. Then there is a lot to be said about the state of the laptop market then and now on a comparative basis against the competition.

Interesting, it sounds similar to the review where he keeps it very high setting too.
When I had my MBP I believe I had it around 40-50% indoors, but we may just have different preferences.
I do love my XPS 13 matte screen, I work on it comfortable at 20-30% brightness and it’s even readable at 0%. Who would have thought a matte screen made such a difference!
I think while nice to have the brightest screen possible...it probably is overkill 99% of the time. Unless you use it at the beach...but stop taking your MacBook to the beach!!!
