Posted in another thread but for reference, here is my order:

16gb, white, wifi. Ordered at 0130 on 8th, delivery to Manchester.

No delay email as yet.

Must have oversold somewhere, perhaps stock has been rerouted to US sales if that store was online prior to UK.

slippage..

I ordered at about 7.45pm on launch day, just before the outage. Got my confirmation at about 8.30pm

no slippage yet, but we'll see...

Stock cannot be re-routed in this way. Manufacturing capacity, maybe, but how do you suppose they'll sell a UK iPad with a UK three-pin mains adaptor to the US market?

It's more likely that demand was high and initial allocation was low. Which certainly isn't either new or surprising for Apple. They play this game every year, gah!

I placed my order before midnight, I think, and haven't had a slip yet. 16GB WiFi, Black.

I'm in Belfast and I got the delay email- 20th March. I know everyone is panicking and posting "I haven't got a delay email" but can those that HAVE got it please post their location.
I'm hearing talk that this might be Scotland and N. Ireland only- we can soon quickly determine if that's the case.
Thanks

There has been a couple of English cases too.

Ok cheers- how strange then. It doesn't seem to have been a case of "when" (they were ordered) or "where".
Time will tell. I'll be interested to find out whether the Apple Stores in these locations (Belfast in my case) are definitely getting them in for next Friday.

If you base it on what is reported here then you would conclude that it is mainly Scotland and Northern Ireland. It's a very small sample though.

In my opinion, despite that small sample, I would cautiously conclude that it is affecting those countries in particular.

What we do seem to be missing is someone from Scotland reporting that they haven't had the email. Is there anyone out there?

Hello guys..

So far no email... Ordered on the 8th at 8:30 am.

Anyone from London has received the email?

Cheers!

Hello from London!

Ordered just after midnight on the 8th, received confirmation e-mail at 12:25am. iPad white 16GB+4G. Still showing 16th delivery date and no dreaded email from Apple so far.

Oh btw last night my iPad was showing as boxed and today it's unboxed!! hmmmm

I'm sure it will come of its own accord :(

Now, now - we need some optimism on this thread! I wonder are the emails being sent out in alphabetical order of surname - mine is C. Or possibly they've all been sent out and everyone else is safe.

I ordered just after the site came back up - around 11.45pm.

I'm in London and no delay email yet.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if I did get one because that's just my luck!

True about the plugs but I guess it depends how far down the line the iPad units are - just off the production line or in boxes already. I'd guess Apple take orders on iPads that haven't been completely produced, boxed and ready to go yet - plugs and packaging could be ready to go much earlier.

Either way, we're all speculating to some degree so perhaps we should just wait until our orders arrive and look back at how many actually got delayed.

According to a marketing Professor of mine, people are more likely to raise a complaint (ie post on here) if there is an issue with an order rather than those who are having no problems - to the tune of 4:1. Academic waffle probably :D

No email yet, based in Nottingham area.

Ordered a Black 32GB WiFi model at about 23:45. Recieved order confirmation at 00:30.

Order on website showing as 'Processing Items' & 'Delivers on March 16 '

More so than location it's looking like is a size thing. i.e. 32Gb

Anyone NOT getting a 32gigger got a delay message yet or is it only 32giggers being delayed?

DAMN, should have gone for the 64 ;-)

No email yet. Im in London, I ordered a White 32gb+4g thursday at 2 am.
Order still says delivery on the 16th. Fingers crossed !

We have no idea how these things are set up.

I would imagine, like any kind of distribution network that it will be something like this:

Area 1 : Best seller: 1000 units allocated
Next best seller 750 units
Next best seller 500 units

Area 2 : Best seller: 5000 units allocated
Next best seller 2500 units
Next best seller 1250 units

Now if you live in area 2 and have ordered a best selling unit you might get once having ordered much later than someone living in area 1.

That kind of thing...

Not sure what I'm trying to say here other than,... it might be more complex than size and location. Possibly. lol

Hey, I stay in Glasgow and no changes in deliver date here. Still 16th.
What time did you order?
