Just phoned TNT to ask about delivery time. First thing she said......is it for an ipad? When I said yes, she said they can't contact driver today for time estimates because they have too many items - probably all iPads.

One of my colleagues has just had his delivered at work... Hopefully mine's on the same van as I live 10 minutes from work!!

Edit: Just as I post, a delivery looking van has pulled up...

If you're using it then yes. Leave it in standby and it goes much faster. Turn it off completely and it'll whiz along!

Not usually but this one might be. I read somewhere that this was one of the trade-offs for squeezing higher battery power out out a battery that isn't that much bigger than before - a slower recharge rate.

Mine is now "out for delivery" TNT Bodmin as of 9:05.
Don't care when it arrives today, just glad after all the messing around that it looks like it will be here today (as originally promised!)

Phew, I can get on with some work now rather than just chasing around the tracking options. Hope it all goes well for everyone here - looking promising?

Driver said the truck from the main depot only arrived at 5am.
57 in Preston for delivery and he was rushed off his feet!

im in Bracknell waiting for mine, and mine is coming via UKmail (tracking says it is out on the van for delivery now) strange how they are not both being delivered by the same company being so close...
I feel a bit silly now and wish i'd waited an extra day to get my hands on mine so i could have got it at John Lewis and bagged an extra year warranty

The battery is massive. It's in the laptop ballpark. Most 13-14 inch laptops are in the 40 range. My rather powerful 17 inch Dell laptop has a 75 Watt AC.

I bet the iPad 4 will be shipped with a much larger power brick.

Gotta feel sorry for the drivers on days like this. Remember the UPS guy with the iPad 2 telling me they had every van out from early o'clock and he'd be lucky to get back to the depot by 20:00.

Only downside to living close enough to depots to go pick up missed deliveries is our house tends to be on the homeward-bound leg of the trip. Really doubt I'll see my new shiny before lunchtime. Ah well, gives me time to do a full backup at least!

So jealous of you guys

Mine was showing as awaiting collection fro syncenron all day yesterday, finally collected today in Exeter (ukmail)... Around 7hrs away, and then got a discrepancy scan at around 8.20 and delayed until the 19th Won't be in mon and tues, earliest I'm off is Wednesday.

Any advice.

May as well have just bought it from pcworld or Argos
