My iPads were all ordered first and second day. They are all in processing. My engraved ones have shipped. My thoughts behind this are that the non engraved will be shipped from local. The engraved models are being shipped direct from china. All are supposed to deliver the 16th.
Im in the same boat bought a 64g black verizon lte about an hour after the keynote, still in processing.
I ordered a white 32 gb 4g lte for Verizon at 6:30 eastern time on the 7th. Got confirmation email at 7:11 on the 7th. I have been stuck in prepare for shipping since Friday evening. Status still shows delivery on march 16 via standard shipping. Any one else in the same boat?
All I believe that one digit is inadequate for the week of the year (are we talking fiscal or calendar?) when restricted to numbers and A-Z. Unless you have a more reliable source the 5th digit could just as easily be the week of the quarter.
Does anyone else's status say Ships March 19, Delivers March 19th via Standard Shipping? This seems impossible to me - should I not expect it at all to arrive on the 19th??
Are you sure it says the words Delivers March 19th? Please re-verify.

Nothing more. Nothing whether it will be by standard shipping or overnight. Most likely it will be by standard shipping and if its coming from China then that means March 22-23 time frame.
Are Apple's shipping date's usually pretty spot on? I only ask because I couldn't order until last night and it said 2-3 weeks. After I submitted my order it said my new iPad would be shipping on April 2nd, exactly 3 weeks from the date I ordered it. Could this date be moved up a week or so or am I locked in for it to be shipped then? Thanks.
Yes it COULD be moved up. My last iPhone 4S order said 2 weeks out and it took 4 days. I will say that with a product launch it's possible but don't count on it.

I orded both my iPad and SmartCover on Wed. March 7th. My email conformation was sent at 3:53 PM EST My SmartCover has shipped and was delved on Friday. My iPad still says Preparing for Shipment. Should I be worried as the SmartCover was not sposto to be delved until the 14-16? My SmartCover is just tormenting me. This is my fist iPad and all I have is my SmartCover.

You and a million other people (including me) already got their smart covers. Don't worry... looks like mostly people that have engraved ipads have shipping info. Most likely it's sitting in a Fedex truck within a few hours of your house!
ordered 64GB BLK wifi+4G LTE AT&T on 3/7/2012 8:30PM payment left my account in 1/2 an houre letter,
shipped today 3/12/2012 by fedex for deliver on 3/16/2012 and tracking # too
was on prepare shipping for ever
What would you be worried about? You got your smart cover ahead of time. Do yourself a favor and lose your tracking number.
Apple just cancelled my order for no reason...
I just got an email from the Apple store that my iPad order has been cancelled, but none of the reasons in the email apply to my order (didn't exceed limit of 2, not an FBO or international address, not a PO Box). I received the smart cover on Saturday, and the Applecare charge was processed.
I spoke with Apple Support but they couldn't explain why the order was cancelled. I placed it on the 7th, right after they appeared in the store. Supposedly someone will call me in the next 24 hours to explain what happened, but I will be shocked if that happens.
Look out for this problem!

I don't remember what the status was before being cancelled, probably "in process" or something like that. Now it just reads "cancelled."
My order status still says "processing items" with a pick up date of March 16th for store pickup. For everyone who preordered for store pickup, does yours say "processing items" as well?
They told me they do an initial pre-authorization of a dollar or sometimes even the full amount once you place the order so they can verify the card is good then they bill it once it ships. My cc didn't show any activity til early this morning march 12 when it shipped now the full amount is shown
That sucks, and I've felt your pain. When the 3GS was released, I pre-ordered and my order was canceled for no reason. I had to go wait in line on opening day.
