All I believe that one digit is inadequate for the week of the year (are we talking fiscal or calendar?) when restricted to numbers and A-Z. Unless you have a more reliable source the 5th digit could just as easily be the week of the quarter.They can use letters. And I believe the 4th digit is the half of the year it was made. So they would only need 26 different combinations for the 5th digit.

Does anyone else's status say Ships March 19, Delivers March 19th via Standard Shipping? This seems impossible to me - should I not expect it at all to arrive on the 19th??![]()
Are Apple's shipping date's usually pretty spot on? I only ask because I couldn't order until last night and it said 2-3 weeks. After I submitted my order it said my new iPad would be shipping on April 2nd, exactly 3 weeks from the date I ordered it. Could this date be moved up a week or so or am I locked in for it to be shipped then? Thanks.
Are you sure it says the words Delivers March 19th? Please re-verify.

Nothing more. Nothing whether it will be by standard shipping or overnight. Most likely it will be by standard shipping and if its coming from China then that means March 22-23 time frame.
I orded both my iPad and SmartCover on Wed. March 7th. My email conformation was sent at 3:53 PM EST My SmartCover has shipped and was delved on Friday. My iPad still says Preparing for Shipment. Should I be worried as the SmartCover was not sposto to be delved until the 14-16? My SmartCover is just tormenting me. This is my fist iPad and all I have is my SmartCover.

I just got an email from the Apple store that my iPad order has been cancelled, but none of the reasons in the email apply to my order (didn't exceed limit of 2, not an FBO or international address, not a PO Box). I received the smart cover on Saturday, and the Applecare charge was processed.
I spoke with Apple Support but they couldn't explain why the order was cancelled. I placed it on the 7th, right after they appeared in the store. Supposedly someone will call me in the next 24 hours to explain what happened, but I will be shocked if that happens.
Look out for this problem!
What was your order status showing until you got cancelled?
I don't remember what the status was before being cancelled, probably "in process" or something like that. Now it just reads "cancelled."
