Does anyone know what's up with the FedEx tracking page showing March 13, 2012 as the delivery date? Seems like a big tease...

Its a automatic thing that Fed-Ex does in their computer for estimation of delivery. But Apple will have Fed-Ex to hold the shipment until it's delivery date of March 16th, you can count on that. ;)

----------

Anyone else who ordered on 3/7 or 3/8 still on 'Processing items'?

Mine is still in Processing and I ordered late night around 1130 pm near midnight of March 7th but I have a shipped by date of March 19th but I assume that will change sometime this week and go to preparing to ship...

I know we are all worried until we see it go to the next step and then the step after that until it is finally shipped. I would not worry. It just takes time to update all the orders.

Have they charged your charged the final charge yet? or just the pre-authorization?

----------

My Apple TV is still processing too. I wonder if they are more worried about the ipads right now.

Does anyone have an Apple TV past processing?

No mine is in processing as well, but as far as I know, the Apple TV's are in the states already and will be shipped on Thursday for delivery on the 16th so we should see some movement on the Apple TV's from Processing to prepared for shipment either Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest.

Actually, these "hold" requests are beyond stupid. If the things are ready to go, let them go. Instead, they will crush the delivery systems, FedEx, UPS, etc, all at once. I'm tired of Apple having to make everything into an "Event", with a capital "E". Its not like iPads and iPhones need the marketing bump anymore.

Yep - it definitely says: Ships: March 19. And then below, Delivers: March 19. I am wondering if it is a mistake - although, does Apple make mistakes like that??

Wow that is interesting indeed. It has to be some mistake as it would be nearly impossible to ship on and receive on the same day. I know that Fed-Ex does do same day shipping but Apple does not. They do Overnight or standard shipping only. It has to be a mistake though I wish it was true then we would be getting our iPads on Monday instead of the following Friday. How cool would that be?

Keep us posted on what your status is through all the steps. I am interested in knowing if you actually get it on the 19th.

Also I would like what part of the USA do you live on? East Coast? West Coast? Alaska? Wondering if your place you live has any bearing on why you could get such fast shipping.

Couldn't agree more. Got an email on Sunday that said my iPad was in PA. I live in Ohio. It should be here by now. I love apple products but get tired of the circle jerk hype that comes along with them. They had no problem charging my credit card on the 7th. Why should I have to wait then. I really need the thing for work.

Yeah, I find it irksome that, according to the FedEx site, my iPad has been sitting in a warehouse in Pennsylvania since March 10 but won't be delivered until March 16.

Exactly. I don't see what the big deal is if some people get it early.

If anything, it might actually cause more of a buzz because you will have early reviewers and it may lead to even more of a turnout on Friday.

Anyone with a NOT-ENGRAVED VERIZON model that has already been shipped?

32GB Black Verizon here. Shipping to FL. Shipped Saturday. Tracking info shows picked up yesterday in Nashville with delivery today by 4:30pm. Also has future delivery requested. That was last updated yesterday at 10am. Waiting for another update and I bet they change it to deliver the 16th but I'm hoping mine slips through the cracks.

I bet that is hard for you to know that your iPad is just sitting there and you can not do anything about it. But one thing is , you have piece of mind knowing that you will get yours on time. Others are still worrying about getting a preparing for shipment notification or a shipment notification but you have that already so your mind should be at ease.

There is another good point also, this beats the iPad 2 launch last year where we couldn't preorder and had to order the same day they went on sale. Many who ordered on opening day didn't receive them for 10-14 days.

This way we will receive them the same day as those lucky enough to get one at an Apple store or other retailer.

Some folks will see the charge immediately, some won't.

When I went through the 4s launch, my card was authorized, but the pending charge fell off after a few days. It wasn't till Two full weeks had passed from when the phone was delivered that Apple withdrew the funds.

This is what has happened to me right now. The pending charge was on there till yesterday (12th), I ordered on the 8th (Thursday), haven't received any cancellation emails or anything and I hope it remains that way.

For those of you who ordered a ATT iPad Wi-Fi +4G have you bothered to check to see if 4G is available in your market area? I did not even think about that until recently. I live in Las Vegas, NV and thank god it is one of the 28 market areas that has 4G already up and running.

But I am wondering if everyone who ordered their iPad with 4G from ATT and not even knowing if they will have the 4G service or 4G LTE Service not available to them. Some may be disappointed when they can not connect at 4G speeds until ATT gets around to updating their market. You can go to this link to see the 4G coverage areas. Click on Coverage. Hope this helps. Even the Verizon people should check their service area as well.

Difference between 4G and 4G LTE is 4 G is about 4 times faster than 3G and 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G. I am glad Las Vegas, NV has the 4G LTE and will be 10 times faster than 3G.

I am thinking that many people just assumed that 4G is everywhere now and it is not at this time. Maybe by 2013. Something to think about.

Of course I checked! Albeit, it was after I ordered...

I just called them up and the customer rep confirmed that the order is still live and should deliver by March 16th.

little worried now. Ordered mine like 2 hours after the keynote and they took the cash out of my account right away. It's been preparing for shipment since monday and now when I look in the bank account I don't see the charge there anymore but my balance is still showing the iPad's price being subtracted. Am I in the clear if it's already processing for shipment

Same here. Mine says "Preparing for Shipment" and the funds in my bank account that were pending for the iPad are no longer pending, but available again in my account. I called Apple and they said that many banks, if a card is not officially charged so many days after the hold is placed on the funds, will make those funds available. He stated that my card will be officially charged when my order is shipped, and I'm still set for it to arrive on the 16th.

I'm ok with the hold. If carriers balked then Apple would probably just ship them on release date instead of having them arrive on release date.
