I ordered a black Verizon 32GB iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G LTE on launch day (March 7th), around 3:45 PM EST.

Mine still says "Preparing for Shipment," and it still says "Delivers on March 16." Starting to get concerned that it won't make the delivery date :(

Mind you, I live in NYC.

I'm a launch day orderer (ordered around 3:30-3:40pm) still waiting on a shipped status. Been preparing to ship for days! I wasn't worried till I saw a couple cancellations. That would truly suck since stock is pushed back 2-3 weeks. If you were someone who sold your old iPad recently, that would suck even more if you really need it.

If you're starting to get concerned, I should really start to get worried because I'm still not past Processing. I'll probably call Apple after work today if the status doesn't change. I was going to wait until tomorrow, but just to ease my mind I might today.

If you do call Apple, please post your results. I'm in the same boat, but I don't have the heart to call them and hear any bad news. :(

Just out of curiosity, where are you having the iPad delivered to?

I'm just worried because others from NYC are stating that they already have their iPad status as "shipped".

I'm ok with the hold. If carriers balked then Apple would probably just ship them on release date instead of having them arrive on release date.

I don't have a problem with the carriers, they are just doing what the customer, i.e., Apple, wants. Its Apple that creates this unnecessary "circle jerk", as one poster said. And, as someone else said, our money is officially claimed now (at least mine is). If Apple wants to deliver them all on a certain date, then they should refrain from taking our money until that date too.

Yes. Unengraved white 64GB Verizon shipped yesterday in the morning.

Yup. I ordered a Black 64GB Verizon 4G (no engraving) at 3:30pm CDT on 7 March. Got my confirmation 2 hours later, prepared for shipping on Thur, and shipping notice on Sat. But when I check the status via Fedex it just showed "picked up". Last night it showed that it was in Nashville, TN with a delivery date of Mar 16 by 4:30pm...also "Future delivery requested":apple:

Mine (see signature) has been processing since the morning of the 7th but my AppleCare portion of the order has already been completed. Also my email confirmation didn't come until 2 days later and I'm in CA.

Mine is still "preparing for shipment" and I called Apple because my pending charge has vanished from my account as well. Apple said everything looks fine, the bank approved the charge and it was in the pipeline.

Just strange that the pending came and went, but I guess since there's nothing on the card even close to the credit limit its ok.

Ordered on announcement day. Mine's been hanging out in Louisville since noon on 3/11. I'm assuming this is part of the "hold for delivery" thing.

Engraved 32gb Wifi shipped via UPS.

Received my shipping confirmation email! :)

White 16 GB WiFi.

Live in California, ordered in the first 5 minutes. :D

Fedex is the carrier.

OK. I just spoke with a very nice rep. It was as I had assumed. Those of us who are stuck in Processing have our iPads coming from kinda near us - I'm in Oregon and mine is coming from California. Other people who have progressed to shipping have theirs coming from China. I'm OK for now. I'm hoping to not get nervous again, except if it doesn't progress past Processing by late tomorrow.

It's not strange. The pending charge should have fallen off. Once yours is about to ship, you'll be officially charged.

My 32GB Verizon still showing Preparing for Shipment since Saturday.

Chill, people. Launch day fulfillment for pre-orders is something Apple is very good at. They know where to place product and when to release to the shipper to insure it reaches people on the specified day.

If your order still says 'Delivers on March 16,' that's when you'll get it.

My iPhone4S preorder didn't switch to shipped until Tuesday evening last October and it arrived before noon on Friday as expected.

Someone else here claims theirs still showed Processing when the phone arrived on launch day.

If still worried, perhaps a call to Apple to ensure there's no issue with your order might help.

Umm, mine shipped 2 days ago and tracking originated in Pennsylvania, not China.

Totally sympathize with you. I was in the same boat: stuck at "processing" for four days.

Yesterday it flipped to "shipped" and I got a FedEx tracking number. Delivery Friday.

I'm in NYC and am having it shipped to my office. Big place with fairly trustworthy mail room department. Lots of people here get their Apple gear shipped directly to them here, so I should be good.

I would give it another day, and then start making inquiries.

How many of you guys asked the same exact question last year? "I'm still processing, OMG, help cuz it hasn't shipped but says it will be here by the 16th overnight!!"..."OMG it shipped, can I pick it up early?!". This is extremely funny.

Last year it came on time, the year before the same thing. It's ok, just take a deep breath and wait patiently, as hard as that may be!

+1. Step away from the order status page and wait until Friday.

hey all. been following this for a few days now and had to register and give you my personal low down. ordered white 32gb engraved on march 7th at 930pm. a couple hours later got the preparing for shipment and my iPad 3 shipped march 9th at 9pm. got the tracking number from ups and immediately saw some activity. epz china - chengdu - shanghai - anchorage alaska. departed alaska 3/10 at 11pm and hasnt updated since. this is where it gets interesting. I've noticed fedex has the future date shipment requested however ups doesn't. and i just called ups international tracking and spoke with a very nice lady who informed me that she sees a shipping date of march 13 which is today!!! i told her that when i track it on ups i see march 16th and she goes and i quote " well my data on this side is usually more reliable than the websites." i sure hope she is right!! i will keep you all updated.

:apple: macbook pro 13inch 2011 - iMac 2011 21.5 inch - iphone 4s - apple tv

also i personally believe that if any iPads do arrive early it will most likely be UPS ones because they do not have the future delivery dates requested. the fedex ones are already in the states and therefore got the future date put on them. i believe ups iPads do not have any restrictions.

Im not understanding you. If you saw tracking activity through a UPS tracking # that means it was already shipped back when you first saw activity. UPS packages don't get "shipped" twice. So her saying it's shows as "shipping today" isn't accurate info. And, just so you are aware, the data you see online is directly linked to what customer service sees. As your package gets scanned the tracking # gets updated online. The package label is the ONLY thing that keeps everyone updated. There are MILLIONS of packages out there, all of which are "tracked" via scans on the label affixed to the package itself. For her to say she has better info is false. I just wouldn't get too excited for a delivery tomorrow.
