I'm really worried after looking at the unexpected cancellations.
Considering I ordered on Saturday knowing it wasn't expected to get to me on Friday, I really don't care about getting it on launch day. It may get here earlier than the 21st (the expected delivery date at the time of purchase) and that'd be awesome, but I'm not expecting it tomorrow.
From the email from Apple. As I said, ordered on Saturday. Black 64GB VZW LTE.
Mine's the same and coming to Austin. I'm betting it gets scanned and the tracking starts tonight maybe even tomorrow. It will arrive in Austin Thursday evening or maybe even early Friday am. I've seen packages arrive in Austin around 3 am and be scanned and out for delivery by 7 am.
It's really amazing hoe efficient Fed Ex can be.
Well I ordered at 9:00 AM Friday, March 9th and according to apple it will not even ship until the 19th.
Sucks because it appears people after me have already gotten shipping notifications.

FEdEx delivered my SmartCover today. Says he has the iPad but can't release it till Friday under orders from Apple.
That is frustrating. So ridiculously close.Ordered My white 32 gb Verizon lte on the 7th at 6:30 eastern time. Been stuck in preparing for shipment since Friday evening. Today the charge that had been showing on my account is no longer there. Still showing delivery on march 16th. Anybody who ordered in the same place? I'm in Cleveland by the way.
im in the same situation as you and i called apple and they said its normal. he said still looks like i should get it on the 16th. Hope hes right
Exact same. I ordered 32 GB Verizon on 3/8 in the early afternoon. Preparing for shipment since Friday night. Today the charge on my account is gone, but shows 3/16 delivery. I called Apple, they said it's normal. Banks often release the hold on the funds if the card isn't charged within X number of days. The card will be charged again when the item ships.

It appears that's exactly when you'll get it. That's about as 'un-frustrating' as I can think of.

I think Louisville and/or Indianapolis is a huge FedEx distribution center; we may not hear anything until Thursday, given the close proximity. I HOPE we hear something sooner, but ya never know.

he was just saying the fact that the delievery guy would point out that he has his ipad, but cant give it to him (when he has already been told that it delievers the 16th) is almost like the guy is waiving it over his head in my opinion

I am in northern california with a 16gb wifi only model that was marked as shipped on monday. Fedex shows it picked up but not moving yet so what you were told sounds plausible.
Still sucks to wait.
