tracking info from the courier, not apples info......today is 13th so it should have moved to picked up or some other status?
My 64GB Wifi ordered on March 7th 1pm is still preparing for shipping since last Friday. It's frustrating seeing all the other shipment notice others getting who ordered later than me.
I called Apple, and was told that because I'm close to one of their warehouse. But was also told that will be shipped ground. I'm starting to worry not receiving it on this Friday. Anyone else from west coast with WiFi model?
I ordered the 32gb white wifi version on march 8th and just received my tracking number. In Apple's website it says Fedex Ground but on Fedex it says Overnight so not expecting it to move till Thursday night. Mines is shipped to Sacramento and right now its on hold for future delivery in Ontario, CA.

SAME exact thing for me man. Moved from today by 4:30 to Friday. In transit delivery exception. I live in ruraltown so hopefully I get mine Thursday.

I think it should be bolded/highlighted/colored/italiced - it might help register with some folks that you won't get it until the 16th no matter what you read/hear/are told/or make up yourself...
My 64GB Black AT&T 4G LTE just went to shipped at 1:57pm EST today (ordered at 9am on 3/8).
Unfortunately, I got a summons for Jury duty (starts Weds). My luck, I'll get selected for a jury and have to sit through some stupid trial and miss delivery on Friday
I guess I could just say during the selection phase that I think anyone that the police arrest must be guilty or the police would not have arrested them or something like that so I don't get selected

I ordered my 32gb 4g black model around dinner time the day it was announced. I already got my smart cover that I purchased in the same order, but the Ipad is still processing in my order status. Estimated delivery is still the 16th, the same as the day I ordered it. Should I be worried that this will actually make it hear by friday since it is still processing?
Edit: Also forgot to mention im in Columbia, MO, about 1.5-2hrs from both St Louis and Kansas City.

You'll be fine. Same thing happened to me on a previous pre-order (iPhone 4 or 4S) and I had it on launch day.
Same thing happened to me and I just got my shipping confirm. You should be fine.
I just posted in the "still processing" thread, but wanted to let people know who are reading this that even thought I felt like my order from 3/8 was never going to get out of "Processing", finally it did within the last hour, and it's now "Preparing for shipment" (black 32GB AT&T).
I was starting to feel hopeless, but wanted to give some encouragement to others now that I feel like I "crossed over".

Apparently you're not very experienced with pre-ordering Apple products, or you live in a cave. I'll cut you some slack though. Because A) It happens with every launch that people get Apple products starting the day before launch and B) FedEx/UPS don't deliver to some rural areas every day they normally deliver so it's not uncommon for them to deliver a day before the expected delivery day.
Thanks for the info. This is my 1st Apple preorder event and my first iPad. I wasn't sure what to expect.
Alright, I got my shipping notice at 3:53pm EST.
I had placed my order at 8:55pm Mar 8th 2012. It turned to 'Preparing for shipment' 3 hours later the same evening. And finally now it is shipping from MIDDLETOWN, PA to NC.
Hang in there fellers, there's absolutely nothing to worry about, you WILL get yours shipped soon.

there is a difference in saying "its is frustrating that i have to wait until the 16th" then saying " the fedex guy said he has my ipad already but cant give it to me until friday, man thats frustrating"

All those who religiously check the tracking info and obsess that their iPad is "so close" have only set themselves up for disappointment. Apple has said the exact day they would be delivered. Any other expectation is a fallacy.
Why Apple can't just ship the iPads already? Both of mine are sitting in Middletown,PA waiting to ship to Horsham, PA then redirected to an APO address in Germany via a shipping company based in Horsham. Am impatient!
