My it was HARRISBURG, PA by 3am now is on NEWARK, NJ since 6:15 and final destination is Lockport NY

I have the exact same shipment progress. I'm in State College Pa, just a short drive away. Go figure lol. But it will make headway today.

Finally! My iPad left Ontario and is currently "in transit" to me!!!! Left at 11:25PM.

It is not often that I experience the anticipation I felt as a child. It's the sad reality of adulthood, and I relish these experiences now!

lol I went back to find this - love it. :D

So weird. Mine also went from Harrisburg, PA to Newark, NJ but I'm in Philly. So it basically went from being an hour and a half west of me to being an hour and a half northeast of me.

It is odd to be all geeked out over the anticipation, but I too have that feeling.

Although, having youngsters of my own, I get to piggy-back on their childhood excitement many times...which is awesome.

I'm still in the "Processing Items" stage with a 16GB White iPad3. Ordered on March 8th around 12pm. It sucks. I've called Apple a few times and they said everything looks fine :( the only date I have is "Ships by March 19" but you'd think I'd be past the Processing Items stage by now :/

I'm in Canada by the way. This is my first pre-order experience and it's not very fun!!! haha (I know this says USA but I didn't see a thread for Canada, unless I missed it)

Also.. first post. Hello :)

looks like indeed the move is on, however mine seems to have left only to return (I guess) 2hrs later :) hihi...

This is true. Christmas through the eyes of my children (ages range from 17 months to 6 years) is much sweeter than any of my own.

But...is is pretty damn sweet :D

And my kids are excited because my iPad 2 will be handed down to them once mine arrives. I currently have a gumdrop case on my iPad and I am so sick of this huge, bulky beast! Perfect for them, horrid for me. Come on, iPad!!!!

Just checked mine, it too went from Nashville to Indianapolis...which is further away from me then Nashville is, but whatever! I'm happy it's on the move!

That's just plain bizarre. One would expect customs to be at the point of arrival on American soil. So anything could sit there ticking away in a box without being looked at until it's deep within US territory? Something's majorly wrong with that.

I agree. FedEx and UPS don't know what they are doing. Clearly their goal is to have one of their planes explode over the CONUS.

Clue 1: Don't confuse where something goes through customs with where it gets scanned for explosives.

16GB Black Verizon iPad. Ordered as soon as the store came up on the 7th. Still says preparing for shipping to be delivered tomorrow.
I wonder if some of these were already in the US and thats why they are not showing as shipped yet.
I feel pretty confident it will be delivered tomorrow but its still kind of nerve wracking.

Same thing happened with mine -- picked up from Nashville, left for
Mount Juliet last night, now back in Nashville.

Not sure about this, but maybe iPads arrived at the respective mega facilities (located near airports in Ontario and Nashville) prior to the announcement and then were move to facilities elsewhere util ready for shipment. That would make sense or the "picked up" indicator and validate having to bring the iPads back to the sorting facilities for delivery.

I know FedEx made Memphis it's home, so I really don't understand why they were in Nashville (except that they have a major presence there as well).

Mine started in Ontario, not China, so you are correct in your thinking.

Perhaps yours was on the same truck as mine - which made the same move...

Although, mine is on the way to Chicago - so seems like it's making its way towards me!

Right now, mine shows:

Mar 15, 2012 6:44 AM - Shipment information sent to FedEx
Mar 15, 2012 6:18 AM - Arrived at FedEx location - INDIANAPOLIS, IN
Mar 14, 2012 11:20 PM - Left FedEx origin facility - MOUNT JULIET, TN
Mar 12, 2012 11:57 AM - Picked up - NASHVILLE, TN - Future delivery requested

I wonder that that "Shipment information sent to FedEx" notice is all about...

Ordered on the 7th,order confirmed with shipping confirmation on the 11th. No activity since the 11th which showed the item picked up at Ontario CA.

Whereabouts do you live? It may just be sitting there until they are ready to put it in transit to you.

Yup, ours are travel buddies. Mine is coming to MO but all the times are the same

:)

Mine arrived at the Oakland sort facility as of 13 minutes ago. Just a short drive across the bay now.

I have the same "shipment information sent to FedEx." Not worried though. overnight deliveries routinely happen all the time for orders placed the morning before delivery, this is normal. Overnight is overnight.

It goes through Border Patrol in Alaska. I'm also not sure how it works if the entire plane is iPads coming from Foxconn and it goes through Border Patrol. I imagine the security routine is different for those than the normal traffic of individual packages from scattered locations in Asia.

As someone else said, the Customs stamp is just where the paper was passed.
