The New iPad Pre-Order Status Thread (USA) - All Models

Ordered on the 7th around 4:30 PM EST, I received my shipped email from Apple yesterday for my white 16GB WiFi. The tracking number didn't work until this morning around 10:30. It was picked up in Nashville TN and also says "Future delivery requested."

My white one ordered on 8th moved to "preparing for shipping" yesterday afternoon and is still there...😱

If you mean by "early" you mean pick it up from their office that day, yes. Apple will likely place a hold on delivering them until the 16th.

So I am leaving town Friday morning and would love to take my new iPad along. If I call FedEx once I have a tracking number, will they set it aside for pickup Friday morning (16th)? This would be great news!
 
Black 64GB AT&T 4G LTES hipped!

Picked up in Middletown, PA and in transit to CT. Expected to arrive March 16 before 3pm.

Ordered around 3pm on March 7

All completely normal. Been through this a few times. 🙂

Be glad you are returning. I would love that cover if it looked anything like it does online. I read the reviews of not only the off color, but fading and the color bleeding months into ownership.

My guess is the same--some poorly painted black cover if being passed off as a $80 product.

Anyway, I ordered my ipads (2 x 16gb verizon) about 10pm ET on Wednesday. Still not shipped--but the order finally has changed status to "preparing for shipment". Can't wait to see the hidef screen in person.

I ordered a white Verizon 64GB Thursday night around 8:30pm and it switched from processing to prepping for shipment while I was at work this afternoon.

There are a few here, both engraved and not engraved, that have moved past processing, but I haven't seen many.

I am still waiting for my 64gb black ATT to move past processing, and I ordered at 330 cst on Wednesday.

Feels like being in purgatory. 😕

You can try calling FedEX now and asking, but I doubt it. They will likely require 1 delivery attempt before changing the pickup method.
 
I think I have refresh OCD as many times as ive checked the status (still processing). Or maybe I'm just really anxious to get it? Maybe I should get some Ativan lol
 
I ordered a white 64GB Verizon iPad on Thursday 03/08 at 8:30pm and it was stuck in processing until sometime this morning/afternoon while I was at work and switched to preparing for shipment. The smart cover I ordered is scheduled for delivery on 03/14. I didn't order any engraving on my iPad as I sell off the old one every year to help finance the newest models when they come out and I don't want to diminish the resale value.

How many "Can I have my iPad early?" stories do you think FedEx will hear next week?

I get this status as well as a little additional info that makes it seem as though it's been entered into the system (it does say it found a package shipped in the last day):

Looks like people had some success with this method prior to the 4S launch.

I tried this too but on a hunch, I entered a bunch of made-up numbers and as long as I enter ANY number, it always returns the same message-it found 1 package meeting the search criteria, not al tracking info available, blablabla
 
I got the the email saying it was shipped and it was picked up in Ontario, CA on its way to Portland, OR with future delivery requested and will arrive on the 16th. So excited!

FINALLY has gone into preparing for shipment, 64GB ATT Black, ordered Thursday around 11am and still showing delivery by March 16! YAY!

NOPE it looks like you might have failed Real World 101.

Here's what's likely to happen. First they laugh at you. Second they say their legal department would need to deal with it, they are unequipped to respond and if I were them, I'd set aside your iPad until it gets resolved in a court of law 6-9 weeks from now.

Don't try to impress people with book smarts in a world full of street smart people...
