AT&T has tethering on the iPhone. However, the latest I can find is that AT&T hasn't announced support for the 3rd gen iPad. http://www.cultofmac.com/151586/att-wont-let-you-tether-your-new-ipad-lte/ I'm hoping AT&T will release something about tethering this week, but they're not known for their rational or generous data policies.

I wouldn't bother calling. Friday is a long way off. I'm in Portland. I've seen three day turnaround between here and China. I think the status depends on where you are and where the iPad is right now.

Oh ok... wow... True, AT&T is the devil incarnate of cell phone carriers. I only looked at them back when they had the iPhone exclusively and I really really wanted it. But I had been burned before by them very badly and was hesitant. I tried to give them a chance because I really really wanted the iPhone, but dumped them immediately when they setup my service wrong. Couldn't even get the activation right! I knew it was a sign of things to come and to run far, far away.
I wouldn't put it past them to pull something like this.
I'm in Washington and my ipad has been sitting in Ontario CA also. It says overnight shipping and is being delivered on March 16th.
Mine is still processing as well (32gb/Verizon/white), ordered on the 9th at 6am, shipping to Boston. I only just got my confirmation email this morning. Have spoken to Apple twice and they say everything is fine and I may not see shipping info till Tuesday. And that I will definitely have it on the 16th!
Anyone else who ordered within an hour-ish of preorders going live STILL in "Processing"...? Because my 64 gb AT&T is...

Same here still in processing. Called Apple this morning, said everything is fine. Will still receive iPad on the 16th
A friends daughter works for ACS here in my area and they are one of the Apple Customer Care Centers in the US and she said they are being FLOODED with phone calls about orders from last week for the new iPad. Everyone is calling for the same reason, why hasn't their iPads shipped yet.
I kind of feel sorry for them and that's why I haven't called. Now if mine still shows as Preparing for Shipment come Tuesday then I probably will call.
I ordered my 64GB White Verizon iPad Thursday evening.
Received a second order confirmation email about 4:30am PST and now my status has finally changed from processing to preparing for shipment!!!

Seriously. This thread is kind of startling.
Apple, UPS, and FedEx know what they're doing, folks. I've made enough online purchases to know that the package can be delivered sometimes when the online tracking system indicates it's still at the origination point.
Friday is a long way off. My tracking indicates it is being sent Next Day, which means in theory it may not leave China until Thursday (Wednesday our time). And if that's the case, the tracking data may not reflect shipment until Thursday.
Think of it like this: if there is a problem with your shipment and it doesn't arrive on Friday, there's not a damn thing an Apple CSR can do about it. You'll just maybe get some kind of store credit.
I've also been a bit nervous about my order. I placed mine Friday morning at around 9am, 32GB ATT Black, and it's still in processing also. I just spoke with Apple and everything is fine with my order. I should still get it on Friday. They didn't see anything problems with my order. I never received the order confirmation email, but they sent it again and I got it. Your order should be fine also. I completely understand how you are feeling.
Also, I believe someone else earlier in this thread mentioned Apple sending them a free Smart Cover. The woman I spoke with offered me the same thing. I didn't even have to ask. I'm hoping it's better than the one my local store gave me when I had problems buying my iPad2 last year.
I just called and they said my order was fine. Then, I refreshed my order status and now it says "Preparing for shipment." No offer for a smart cover, but that's ok! I'm just excited the status changed, finally! This is my first iPad!
Got my email that my black iPad 16GB with Verizon 4G had shipped at 7:59 AM this morning! About time!
I almost feel sorry for everyone who's iPads have already shipped. They simply can't be prepared for whatever might befall them on their journey.
Mine has been calmly preparing to ship for over 3 days now and is ready to handle anything.

Mine is AT&T so maybe that's why. I'm trying to be patient while obsessively checking status every hour!
