I can't say IF it's going to look like the pictures we've seen or not. They really seem to be true, but i'd really want Apple to surprise me. :)

Everyone thought it was going to be this new tear drop design. But it came out looking exactly the same as the 4. Bar minor changes.

What are you on? That was pure speculation and there were no parts or leaks to back it up. There WERE parts to back up a 4S though.

The fact is, no matter what any of us thinks about the upcoming phone, Apple will prevail. Once Apple manipulated people's minds as successfully as they have, people stop thinking for themselves.

In addition, there's a phenomenon in the USA, that causes people to go into deep debt, to buy what they want, when they want, especially if their friends or others have "it". Whatever "It" is, which in this case is an iPhone.

I've honestly spoken to some adults that own a brand new iPhone, they freely admit they have never used a computer, are afraid of them, and have no idea what their iPhones for other than calls. Some know it will receive email, yet don't have an email address, don't understand email, and afraid that if they get email, they'll be vulnerable to having their credit card numbers stolen.

These people could be my aunt or uncle, and they buy iPhones just to "feel young" although they'd die before admitting that. I live in a University City populated by an above average number of very wealthy people. The Apple Store represents the kind of store they buy their other luxury goods at.

As I've repeated many times, Apple is brilliant, Steve Jobs was the worlds best salesman & respectfully ... If you can handle candid language, a world class con_Vincing man. Thats not, absolutely NOT a criticism. Just a fact.

Look at all the deals he negotiated, companies he acquired, world class presentations that made people drool for the product. You've got to forget about ethics, morals, and simply admire what he accomplished.

My truth? I wonder how long Apple will run on auto-pilot without Steve?

Quite a while I'd bet, but at some point as things begin to slow down, and they will... Apple may have the struggle of a lifetime.

Agree with this. To an extent. Apple did have cases and part leaks before which all turned out to be wrong. All these leaks originate from the same sources in the end, Chinese contacts. The same sources that brought us the tear drop rumor last time and case parts which ended up being wrong and fake.

If anything, Gizmodo will have a the next iPhone like when the iPhone 4 was leaked by them. That I would trust.

I guess you missed all the articles saying that all we were getting was an iPhone 4S that was the same as the 4 with upgraded internals.

Funny. My parents have considerable money. My father has an iPad and they own three computers.

But their cell phones are the cheapest ones available. They have no desire to throw away their money on something they can't even pretend to need.

It's primarily the difference in our societies. Americans are extremely vain.

Very well said! Apple is a giant company. One of the richest, and most powerful in the world. They have some of the smartest, most brilliant people working for them. They are churning out the hottest tech products on the planet and every other company is busting their ass to try and copy them. They are pretty much unstoppable at this point. So to say that if u take one person out of that equation it could change things dramatically for the worst sounds almost impossible. It's 1 person for gods sake. But the truth is, Steve Jobs is apple. Without him they are in big big trouble. And just as beautiful as it was watching Steve, by himself, take a dying company and turn it into the juggernaut that it is today is unfortunately how sad it will be as apple heads on a downward slope from here on out. It's gonna take a while. But it's gonna happen. SJ can never be replaced. And that just sucks.

There should be a freeze on new threads between now and the keynote. Everyones opinions set in stone. Then we can all come back after the keynote and tear each other apart.

So a company's success won't last forever? Thanks for the heads up.

Hopefully Apple has a surprise up its sleeve.Times are different now, Tim Cook has to solidly establish himself as an innovator not just the CEO of Apple. Also the competition is fierce and Apple has the talent to put out a spectacular device.
Bottom Line: We should be in for a treat

I think there is a large misunderstanding as to what a "leak" is vs what a "render" is.

There are blueprints/schematics which tell you what could be.

There are renders, which are almost always false because they are created by a third party.

Then there are leaks which are almost always true because they represent a physical piece of the puzzel that you can hold in your hand and connect to the other pieces.

The teardrop design never leaked. As far as we know it never even existed. It was always just a render. A beautiful design, I agree, but very unrealistic and never real in the first place.

We currently have numerous leaks of physical parts for the long iPhone as well as pictures and video. Although I don't like the design and I at first thought it may be a decoy, I do believe that we are going to get exactly what we've been seeing the past couple months.
