This color is so cool… I’m completely swapped out.
I did have couple of issues:
1. Transfer was getting stuck on my 12PM… saying that transferring to 13PM, 8 minutes. I rebooted both the devices. 13PM is online and seems to have everything. All my apps launches fine and I’ve already set them up so I said F it. Must be a glitch that it’s getting stuck at that transferring mode. Anyways this is resolved.
2. my Apple Watch doesn’t get recognized so I can’t use the watch to unlock feature :(. The watch works tho, it’s paired to 13PM. I just can’t activate the watch unlock feature. Hopefully Apple releases a fix soon.

All in all I’m settled into this new phone. I love it. I don’t notice the smaller notch as much cuz I was used to the notch anyways but it’s a welcome addition. Im very pleased with the cool tone of the screen too. My 12PM was on the warmer side. I did notice the “S” series phones tend to have cooler tone on their screens, 4s, 5s, 6s… is this a coincidence? Or they actually manufacture better cooler screens for the S series.

I love the Sierra blue. It’s like a chameleon, certain angles it’s gray, certain angle it’s light blue, and sometimes silver. They freaking nailed this color. Again, the best color Apple had put out so far in addition to the 5S Gold (my fav before Sierra blue lol)
Yes, exactly! The color changes depending on the light. It is an amazing color.

Also - question for Pacific Blue owners, are all of the color pros more durable than Silver? If I remember, the colored stainless steel options have a special coating that the silver does not. I know my Space Grey iPhone 11 Pro was near flawless after a year while my Silver 12 Pro looked terrible.

Apple mentioned their "special process" for the blue, but should it be as durable as graphite?
I had the gold 12 pro and it was extremely durable, not a scratch on the stainless steel. The silver is the worst- it scratches in 5 seconds and I was constantly buffing them out when I owned the silver X. Never again. The Sierra Blue seems to be made from the same process as the gold 12 pro.

My problem with the sierra blue is that it doesn’t photograph as it’s true color, which is a quite dark & gray shade of blue… It looks excellent in photographs but in person I’m not liking it as much as I’d hoped. Silver remains the best Pro series color in my opinion.

I'm not in a hurry with my purchase- currently have the 12 Pro Max. So I plan to wait a while and decide between Sierra Blue or Silver. Can you post multiple photos of the silver color? There is SO LITTLE info on the silver. What does the white backing look like? Clean white or off white? More warm or more cool toned?

Anyone can chime in.

Pacific Blue remains the best color ever to me. With Pacific Blue (and Midnight Green, but ugh), Apple really leaned into a color offering for the Pro line, something I’d like to see more of. I loved PB so much, I even found myself going naked just to see the color.

With Sierra Blue, Apple stepped back to a “safe” spectrum of colors. To me, Sierra Blue is a grey color tinted with blue so it has interest instead of looking outright boring. So this year, the Pro line has Apple’s take on 4 neutrals: black (Graphite), white (Silver), tan (Gold), grey (Sierra Blue).

Overall, I like it, I just didn’t expect the grey/ice blue that it is since in so many of the videos, you saw the blue end of the spectrum the most. I see that color come through occasionally so it makes me smile and enjoy the interesting color shift that Sierra Blue has.

I’d probably love Sierra IF Pacific hadn’t come first. That said, Sierra plays nicely with cases, so just like when I had the Silver PM, I’m going to have a bit of a case addiction again.

Currently rocking this one:

OP, what was the third case in the picture you posted above? I ask because I like the clear cases without the extra MagSafe ring of the apple clear case.

Interesting. Curious where you saw Apple make this statement?

The steel sides on my 12 graphite pro max were flawless after a year of usage. Hoping for the same durability on the new phones.

In the official keynote when they introduce the Pro line they quickly show all all four finishes and Craig mentions that the blue required an "entirely new" process and briefly explains it before moving on. I just want it to have a coating similar to other colored models as that has proven to be extremely durable.

Thanks. Yes, I’m with you on the durability thing. I wonder if the Sierra Blue sides have a coating or if it’s pure steel similar to the silver model. Hard to tell from the pics sometimes.
