I always kept my touches in cases, and front never had a screen protector, after having 1 for a year in the case and no screen protector, there were no scratches on the front at all, but unfortunately, the back was relatively scratched, it scratches very easily.

Well, when i buy a case im buying from switcheasy and they include screen protectors. So im going to be using them.

I was kidding. As you most likely know it is extremely easy to scratch. I would say the iPhone 4 probably does scratch but not anywhere near as easily as the chrome.

I would figure it would be the iPad design because of the distinction needed between the iPhone and the Touch.

I'm hoping that will be the case also. The Touch has been the ugly duckling of the iPhone line for too long. A redesign to align it more with the iPad would be a brilliant move!!!
This could be the mini iPad we have heard rumors of. Steve did say that there were some amazing things yet to be brought out this year
We could reasonably expect:
1 aluminum solid case - no more chrome- Yea!
2 larger but still pocket-able size for when you don't want to be seen lugging an iPad around.
3 3G capability and you could swap your iPad SIM back and forth!!
4 Real GPS (along with the 3G)
5 gyroscope and new A4 512meg chip
6 Retina display pixel count in a larger screen so all iPhone apps naturally work.

That would be my dream Touch and what I would buy.

I honestly don't think that it will cut into the iPhone sales at all since it won't have a phone in it. I think there is enough space to exist between the old Touch which may exist as a low price device and the full size iPad. It could be offered with 3G and GPS as an option like the iPad.
we shall see.

Haha. Basically wifi but you dont need a wifi router; just to be in a service area.

If you're worried about something, and it's still under warranty with a jailbroken iPod, you can just Restore from back-up. It will remove all jailbroken Applications, and it will be like you never jailbroke it.

Not to mention that Jailbreaking is LEGAL now!!!

Honestly, I love the feature on my moms iPhone so I wouldnt mind the bill...its a little over priced but its really worth it! I hope you wont have to buy a data plan though

After reading this thread and seeing how many people are predicting the base 199.99 model of the iTouch to be basically a 3rd gen with some extra features, I kind of have a question. I'm being offered a 32GB 3rd Gen Ipod Touch from a friend for $135. It comes with 2 cases, a wall outlet adaptor, and has had a screen protector on it since day one. I want to get a touch, but do you guys think I should just buy my friend's 3rd gen for $135, or wait to see what Apple does with the 4th gen? He's going to put it on Craigslist if I don't choose to buy it from him, so I really can't wait until September .

well, not from air contact but it scratches extremely easily. even if it goes into a sleeve. the from glass on the other hand, is next to unscratchable.you should have a look at the back my 2g touch. it looks like a monkey and cat took turns torturing it.

I would suggest waiting. Honestly you could buy it and then sell it for a profit, but i dont think you would want to take advantage of your friend. You should probably tell him to sell it on eBay, he would get alot more.

I dont know. An Apple store might have them but im not sure. I havent seen them in stores anywhere.

He was actually the one who suggested that price to me, so that's why I was asking. Do you recommend waiting because of the features that I could be missing, or is it just because of the second part? I didn't really think about selling it, I'm kind of wanting this for myself .
