Here are my thoughts.

1. The touch will see a whole new design. We had the same look for the past two years. Seeing a new design that may mock the iPhone would be idea as the frame will be the structure, like unibody. We willow no longer see the mirror backing.
2. The touch will get iOS 4.0 of course.
3. The touch will get a camera. Photo apps will sale even more with the expansion of devices.
4. Facetime will come to the touch. Steve said they will sale tens of millions of face time devices. The touch will be one of them.
5. Volume control buttons may change to the iphone styling
6. Retna display. Same pixels and resolution as the iPhone 4.
7. Orention lock
8. Possisble iPad backing?
9. 32Gb and 64GB storage. $199 and $299 respectfully
10. Possisble 3G version but highly unlikely.

This would all be fantastic. Unfortunately, I think this is not realistic for 4th gen, especially not at $199 and $299. Apple wouldn't be able to sustain its profit margins. Form will probably change to resemble the iPhone 4 but be slightly different in some way. It will be a cheaper build case than iPhone 4, and I don't expect any fancy external rim antenna, since wifi reception isn't as big an issue as 3G/cell phone reception.

As far as cameras, I'm resigned to settle for 3.2MP rear camera and that's it. Or it might be a front camera for Facetime instead. I would be pleasantly shocked if they have both (and would probably buy two - for me and spouse).

It will most likely have the ipad backing because they want to keep a line between the Touch and iPhone, but the line between the ipad and Touch is obvious.

It should have two.

Where have you guys read or heard that Apple wants to keep a distinction between iPod touch and iPhone (design wise)??? I'm not doubting it, I just want to know. And what are some examples of them doing this in the past??

I never said specifically design. I said they should keep a line between the iPhone and Touch, not specifically the design. It has always differed, however little.

But 5MP cant hurt. Anything lower than 3.2MP for the rear camera and something will happen.

1000 Posts! Back to subject... me.

I seriously doubt Apple will put a 2MP rear camera in the new touch, it wont be video capable and it would be bad quality. I also think they wont do it because the 3rd Gen prototype had a 2MP rear cam, and I don't think it would follow it's footsteps.

What are you talking about 2MP for?

I think what you want to say is it will have a 5MP cam ? :D I really hope so! If it has 5MP cam I will actually worship apple ! :O The price doesn't matter for me. I just did vacationjob :) So I have money set apart for my ipod touch. Eventhough I think the prices will not rise.

PLEASE APPLE, HEAR MY PRAYER, GIVE THE NEW iPod Touch A 5MP CAMERA WITH LED FLASH AND BETTER PERFORMANCE (and retina screen?), I WILL WORSHIP YOU GUYS! :D

Youre taking this way too far.;)

If you think about it, the uninformed consumer probably already thinks that the iPad is nothing more than a bigger iPod touch. Apple may try to design the iPod to be either:

1) A mix of both iPhone 4 and iPad

2) Completely new design

3) Keep the same design (unlikely)

Either way, we won't know until the day it comes out. (or leaks happen xD)

#1 is most likely. It will probably have anodized aluminum backing with maybe some of the side buttons from the iPhone 4.
