hey i am most likely going to buy the new touch when it comes out but i was going to sell my current one. however underneath the front glass there is acrack running side to side. you cant touch the crack coz its underneath but it has disabled the bottom half of the screen, where slide to unlock is. Please help

Its that time again. I have to admit the iPod touch 3rd gen refresh was disappointing.

I would like a new redesigned iPod Touch, A4 processor and same ram as iphone, Dual cameras (vga and 3.2 mega pixel), Retina display, Gyroscope, better battery, and a microphone for once.

I would love the same camera as iphone as the video and pic quality is superb but I doubt it will happen.

I'm optimistic on some items (facetime camera), but the 5MP camera seems unlikely based on its size. Also, isn't Apple more likely to give a bad camera first? Like the 3GS camera, then next year the good one. Can you site a source on the "there WILL be a 5MP camera"? Or is it (possibly false) hope again?

You asking me to be optimistic bub!

I was optimistic last year and all we got was a camera less pod.

I would like to see a 5 mega pixel camera but knowing apple they won't as they want the keep some features exclusive to the iphone 4. I think the most interesting thing will be whether they put a LED light as well as a camera. Also Derkatwork points out the flaws if they try to implement it to the current design. However if there is a redesign then its possible.

Retina display is a must or Apple will succeed in disappointing like last time.
 
I have noticed the poll, and have concluded that july and august will not be the release date for the new iPod touch :D

This leaves september along with 440 voters...:D

Hopefully less than a whole month...

Hope to hear some chatter about invites in the next two weeks or so :)
 
I say it'll be on either the 8th, 14th, or 15th. It won't be the 7th because that would lead to confusion with the Back to School program, and Apple seems to have always held events on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, so those 3 dates seem fitting. Invites will go out 5-9 days before the event. I hope it's the 8th, but that rumor of a mid-September event may have unfortunately been true. :(

Me too. My 1G is passing on to a better place. I was hoping and despite massively mounting evidence (and common sense), I remain hopeful for a August release. I realize that its not true, I'm just impatient.
