Yes, Apple will ship before software has been completed. The second generation ipod touch had a bluetooth chip installed that wasn't activated until iOS 2.0 was released. After the update, people were able to use bluetooth on the ipod touch.

Guys, maybe someone has already asked you this, but does someone know when approximately apple will release ipod touch 4 in europe ?
Its likely to show up on the internet quickly after it is announced. In the past how long has it taken to get to Europe before? That is a good indicator for a time frame.
you can usually order towards the end of the day of announcements, but they won't ship for at least 2-3 weeks
Idk about amazon, but pre-orders should start as soon as they announce the new Touch's.. I would assume that once they start sending them out from Apple, Amazon would receive them.

I hope Apple thinks it's 'just' so they will include it. :s

I have an istyle here also it is like 20% above the real price. I think of buying it from some techno stores, I think they'll get it in store faster...

Yes it's stuff that will be announced on Wednesday. If you look closely enough... it says "Touch 4"
Most likely within a week, I wouldn't be surprised if they get back ordered.
Can't we tell a lot about the shape and form factor of the new iPod Touch by the shape of these X Doria cases? Personally I wouldn't take them seriously but it seems to have been overlooked amongst all the iPod Nano/shuffle? hype. Really all i want to know is if the new touch will be squared off like the iPhone...
Who says Apple is forever locked into a 0.33" thick touch? The iPhone 4 is only 0.37" thick.
They might make it slightly bigger, but to make a design bigger is like admitting a mistake to Apple. It's much more likely that they would only go far enough to squeeze the smallest acceptable camera in. Once they go down in size, there is almost no turning back.
You have a point there. Apple does favor form over function.
I didn't get it last year because they left out the camera and mic. If they do that again this year, I'll walk away once again.
Same here on the last year part. I have a 95% dead ipod 1G that must be replaced. I've heard at least a couple dozen people who have said, 'no camera/mic, no sale'. Hopefully Apple learned from this. There was rage all over the internet forums over the lack of a camera. I would hate to see what people would say if no camera (VGA alone won't cut it) was present in the touch.
