Everyone, prepare for disappointment. I'm willing to bet we won't be seeing them this Tuesday.

Oh, man. Here we go again...

Every Monday is like getting ready to ask that girl in your class out, and every Tuesday is like seeing her playing tonsil-hockey with your little brother.

My bet is that no MBPs will be coming out tomorrow but the store will be down for the god knows what...

YG. I think and I hope that next tuesday the wait will be over! :D

don't think they'll come today, though i think the invites for the event on the 26th will be received today, and somehow i think it will become a news item right here at macrumors :)

Then at least i'll know for sure Apple is anouncing big next week... what they'll anounce would still be a source of speculation though :)

I really wish :apple: takes us by surprise and release an amazing new MBP tomorrow or next week, exceeding all our expectations... is that too much to ask??????!!! I can't take this anymore! :(

we will see if anybody (press) gets invites today for a press event on the 26th. I think this would be a pretty good indication of weather or not we will see new MBPs tomorrow!

Good call. Very like apple marketing of late- squeeze the hyper for all it is worth. May be the one more thing next week at the rumored event. 8 days for idle speculation.

Who knows really. I'm totally confused. I have many contacts within Apple and have been pressing them about the rumored MBP update for the last couple of weeks.
However, of all the things I've been told (senior apple rep bemoaning the fact that he is on holidays for the next two weeks etc etc) I was struck by a comment made by my close friend who works in logistics. I wasn't asking him anything, merely commenting on the possibility of an update in the next few weeks when he cut me short by saying 'Mate, you know I can't tell you anything, I've signed confidentiality agreements'
Thing is, why did he say that? If he didn't know anything, he didn't need to say anything.
Don't shoot me down, as it's purely fanciful speculation but my gut feeling really does tell me he knows something.

Unless he's just fed up with people asking for inside information...

i'm sure a dude in the stock room isn't going to know anything anyway

im getting the penyrn, but this makes me sad :(:

new montevina chip sets to be released between June 3 - 7, up to 3.06 ghz processor and 1066mhz front-side bus

http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/02/18/next_gen_intel_notebook_chips_to_exceed_3_0ghz.html

Sad already? But penryn is what you've waited so long for! Oh yeah, there is always something newer, faster, better coming around the corner.

Don't fret, just buy the next update and steer clear of all mac rumor sites until you're ready to buy again :)
Otherwise, you're gonna put yourself in a lot of needless pain.

it too also makes me sad knowing that this is coming out so soon. if only i didnt need it so much for uni sem1 id prob wait.

even though the increase isnt so significant to pre-penryn id would like to pay for something that is worth its price in the current market even though apples comps are $$$ i dont want to pay current gen prices on older gen specs. not sure if that makes sense but im sure u guys get what i mean..
if only apple dropped prices as computer parts go down i would of prob purchase the current mbp now.. too $$$ for me knowing there is something new out there already.

:`(

I'm starting to think that we're all just grasping onto nothing, and new MBPs will be released neither tomorrow, nor the 26th.

There's just nothing concrete...we're just all "hoping".
