The Night/Day Before Thread! [MacBookPro]

Exactly, thats why were getting MBP in the first place. I'm buying a MBP in April regardless of what does or does not happen to the current MBP.
 
Ah my glorious return (for the fifth strait week) to this thread. These recent posts on Page 1 make me uneasy but my life is always full of doubt and thrives on faith that Jobs will come through.
 
Well, I know better than to get all amped up again—last Monday I couldn't sleep and kept getting up to check the posts and the :apple: Store. Wait! What am I talking about? Of course I will get all amped up again, what else am I going to do on a Monday night?! Oh! I'm also adding to my totally unrealistic wish list (I'm saying it now so all you guys who love to say "it's not going to happen" can just relax:

• Not Penryn... Montevina! (Hey, if Apple can get Intel to make them a tiny chip for the MacBook Air, then why the heck not!)

• High Resolution LED backlit screens on all PRO models (PRO, need I say more?)

• Case redesign (Still aluminum 'cause it's classy, but new sexy form and thinner lid now that they're all going to be LED backlit).

• Not lighter! (Yes, that's what I said... I want all the bells and whistles :apple: can cram in that thing because it's a PRO machine and it should be ultra powerful and ultra connectable. Many of us will just use it as a desktop replacement anyway. Besides, I find it ridiculous that so many of us pay beaucoup $$ for gym memberships so we can go lift a bunch of weights, but can't handle carrying a laptop that weighs more than a couple of pounds.)

• New backlit Pro Keyboard with new function keys, but with a design befitting a sleek professional top-of-the-line machine (No black chicklet keyboard—they are just so cheap looking! Keep the current one and add the new function keys, or, design us a new extended pro model with numeric key pad.

• Hot-swappable bays reminiscent of the Pismo (Oh what I would give to get Apple to bring that back! Need two batteries? Pop a second one in the bay! On external power? Use the bay for a second hard drive, or optical drive, maybe a new Blue-Ray drive!

• Blue-Ray Read/Write (Everyone seems to be jumping on the band-wagon, It could happen soon...)

• Graphics card upgrade
• Multi-touch
• Beefed-up antenna
• Magnetic latch
• Free Coffee at Starbucks for life with every purchase

If anything will happen this week it will likely be Wednesday because of the (lame) holiday today.

I'll hear that!
If they want to make the screen thinner with an LED display that's great. Apple better not touch the base though. I want a MacBook PRO not something thinner to heat my house. I agree with your view on the MBA keyboard. The separated keys don't look as nice as the current MBP keys and I think they would be harder to type with. No black please, unless the whole case is black.
All the things you mentioned are great. The only things I would add are:
  • HDMI port
  • At least a couple FireWire 800 ports
 
So, once again the Tuesday wait starts! What will we get this time? Place your bets everyone!

  • "Blast To The Past" 80's neon iPod Nanos
  • "The Prisoner" TV series released on iTunes
  • An iWork update
  • Time Capsule now shipping
  • New ACDs

Oh yeah! How did I miss those...let's just say ALL the bells and whistles. And psychic input too! :p
 
Hope to see a new case design next week!

If we see an updated MBP tomorrow, it would just be a CPU update and maybe multi-touch track pad. If we see an invitation to the rumored 26th event, it means Steve Jobs will announce a new design parallel to Macbook air's design factor. ;)
