Did I hit a loophole? I was on the MacBook Pro page of the Apple store US. And now, even though the whole store is down, I can successfully refresh that MBP page and it keeps coming up. If this page updates live, then I'll see the new stuff first!! Haha, you guys think that's possible??

The only way that this is in prep for an asian iPhone release is if.

1. iPhones are unlocked.
2. Visual voicemail is not available
3. EDGE surfing is not going to happen (no EDGE network in NZ, only GPRS or 3G, Vodafone NZ skipped over EDGE)

So, if, say the iPhone is about to be released in New Zealand. Without any hints, leaks etc then,

1. it is crippled with no visual voicemail and no EDGE surfing (GPRS is a non-starter)

or

2. We are getting the mystical iPhone 2 with 3G. and no big press event.

C'mon. it's not going to happen.

This is macbooks or macbook pros and a new style of release. Thats all.

And about the store : If you click on store from any of the other pages besides 'store', the store is down. but click on store when at the 'down' store page, then your really at the store.

store.

edit: us business store : not down.
us education store : definitely down.

guys guys..
just in case new macbook coming tomorrow...
whats the return policy?
i live in australia
and the registration date of my macbook was 15th of february 2008
and its currently being repaired becoz of faulty hard disk drive.. :(

Don't worry guys, if they put some notification of the US store being down, it will eventually be down for realz... they usually don't decommission the store until about 3:25 anyway...

Why does someone always have to rain on my parade:(

LOL This is the way the site has always been coded. When the site goes down, if you were browsing something, it would not give the closed page till the browser was closed and then reopened.

They have the page coded badly, it's why pressing the store button twice takes you to the store.

14 return policy. They Charge you 10% restocking fee if opened. Not sure how the repair might play into it, but you might see if they could waive it for the faulty hardware you have experienced.

If you go to apple.com and press store there is a special link that goes to Busy, updating store, but if you go apple.com>store and then press store again the real store will appear, tho, the links on the 2 pages are different. APple mustve forgot to change that link and close it before they started updating ^^

EDIT: They've fixed the link-error, apple.com store is down for updates!
