Breath of the Wild looks and runs significantly better on the Switch 2.
But yeah, needs more new games.

True but in most cases there's a cost of $10 to get that even if you owned the S1 version.Breath of the Wild looks and runs significantly better on the Switch 2.

I would love to replay that game at higher frame rates. But that's not enough for me justify buying the console. However I am sure there is a sequel in the pipeline and awesome Mario games that will make me upgrade in due course 🙂Breath of the Wild looks and runs significantly better on the Switch 2.

I have NS1 still and I'll finish at least TotK, DKC TF and Thousand Year Door before moving on from it. But I'll likely wait with getting a NS2 until the second version or OLED has released. To me personally I find the graphics perfectly acceptable on mine, even playing on my 55" 4K OLED TV, so once I upgrade it'll be because of the exclusives like a new Mario and Zelda, hopefully even Animal Crossing. You guys and gals are not missing much. I have the Switch 2 and the upgrades are not worth the asking price, although my Switch 2 turned out to be free. Graphics for AC New Horizons Switch vs S2 is barely noticeable and many of the S2 games like Hades 2 runs in 1080P on the S2.
I bought my series x for 350. Oled switch retailed for the same. Honestly if I had to pick one that would be switch, even though indeed it "costs like xbox/ps5" So it might be inferior in power and etc, but it makes up for it in emotional part and game design/mechanics.The thought did cross my mind a bit ago the switch 2 is newer with newer CPU and GPU (couldn't give a huge rip for fps or frame Gen or anything) a bit more ram. Whole thing still seems like an incremental upgrade however but while it has the switch 2 games available to it, it might also have to be extensive switch 1 library to go along with it available on a cart. Not sure I would be paying for the graphical s2 versions or not or even if it's required to do so.
The cost of entry for the s2 is a bit pricey I mean PS5 range. Already have a couple PS5 games for my sisters system.
Hmmm like trying to pick a vanilla ice cream but more expensive 😳 🤪
Some 3rd party games are atrocious, or "more atrocious". If supported, I'm guessing Sw2 specs would help with those. Off the top of my head, Arkham Asylum would go from a range of 5 to 15 fps, to... hopefully at least 30 to 60. Something like Hogwarts Legacy that was slated to be better for PS4/5, PC, and XbsX (if not also SD) that was OK (I say a friend play it on TV mode for Sw1), would hopefully get a face lift.I have NS1 still and I'll finish at least TotK, DKC TF and Thousand Year Door before moving on from it. I love higher framerates, but the older I get the more I accept poorer graphics as long as the gameplay is robust and it has a nice artstyle. I do know that with time NS2 too will have a banger library, but I don't like to buy consoles until I know what it is. I loved my PS2, but skipped PS3 and PS4 because of the poor amount of games that interested me, so I'm pretty principled in that regard.
Well, if you didn't own the Sw1 version, you'd be paying for the whole thing anyways, if not a special Sw2 version.True but in most cases there's a cost of $10 to get that even if you owned the S1 version.
However if you own the game, that should be a complimentary upgrade because it is a Nintendo game and not all of these paid upgrades that Nintendo is charging for are worth the costs. The Animal Crossing upgrade has been panned by those who purchased it with some users saying they felt ripped off. I watched a YT video and compared the game with and without the upgrade and the graphical upgrade was minimal at best and I could see why some felt ripped off by Nintendo.Well, if you didn't own the Sw1 version, you'd be paying for the whole thing anyways, if not a special Sw2 version.
FWIW, games like Zelda: TotK also have graphical improvements, more textures, and some "companion helper app" included with the upgrade price, in addition to now being at 60 fps
Starting to consider a return on things already. Wasn't fully on board with things as it was. Was talking to my sis about things while she was out and she went ahead with the purchase.
Right now it's been sitting still in the box and I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to get to it and set up. 😖
I’m glad that I bought a Steam Deck instead of a Switch 2. I’ve already spent more time playing the deck handheld than I have done with my Switch for 5 years.Starting to consider a return on things already. Wasn't fully on board with things as it was. Well, I did end up returning the things. No reason to have everything sitting around unopened. Might as well go to someone who will actually use the thing 🙂
Just other things going on and gaming has been hard to come by as it is.
got a universal case that fits both normal and lite switches. Didn't start Tokyo Xanadu still, but started Metroid Dread and wow , having tons of fun so far. Feels like a modern Super Metroid which is awesome after how relatively boring and uninspired Metroid Fusion felt in comparison.Dug out my modded switch lite I got on a whim 2 years ago or so. Barely played anything on it when I got it, only games I finished on it were Signalis and Chrono Trigger 😅. Played some others like Chrono Cross (that I didn't finish due to getting stuck on a boss with bad party and build choices), Hatsune Miku and Slay the Spire (the first one). Currently planning to play Tokyo Xanadu on it while commuting, gonna get some nostalgia of playing the first Cold Steel on my PS Vita back in the day
Wanted to get a carrying case for it so that it doesn't bang around in my backpack but all the stores near me already swapped to NS2 and barely anything for switch 1 and nothing for the lite at all : (
Looks like I will have to pay 5e shipping on a 10e protective case haha.
This will happen to every consumer electronic products that has good specs. If you plan to buy any premium hardware, then do so now.Had to happen but a lot less than I thought -
