Anthony Stewart Head. The Master in all but name.

Agreed. They should bring that villian back somehow next season.simonthewolf said:Anthony Stewart Head. The Master in all but name.

There was also the fact that her conversion may not have been fully completed, or have been botched in some way it was while she was having her brain scooped out that the Cyberleader was destroyed, which threw the Cybermen until a new leader was installed.Grasbak said:Going back to CyberYvonne for a moment....
didnt the cybermen say something about quickening the upgrade process because of the new darlek threat??
my reaction to her retaining some humanity was that the process was rushed and therefore might not be totally successfull....?
Yep, Ainsley had a touch of the panto about him but to be fair to him though, he apparently tried to play a darker, more menacing Master on a couple of occasions only to have the director instruct him to play the character in a camper way.simonthewolf said:If the Master does return, they need to set the character in the Delgado mould, rather than the Ainsley panto villian (I really enjoyed Ainsley's performance when I was a nipper, but looking back...) Don't get me started on Eric Roberts...

simonthewolf said:Yeah, I've heard that as well. This is the same guy who overruled Colin Baker's costume preference (which was for a matt black Master-like costume) and made him dress like a clown![]()

Head would make a great Master, that's for sure. (HeadMaster? Tee hee)

I'm a new Doctor Who fan too (oddly enough, given that I've been using "who" or "who?" as my username on almost every forum, because of my surname), I've only seen half a dozen or so episodes, all from the two new series.
What actually spawned my interest was a documentary about the original series, and (of all things) the making of the abstract title visuals, and in particular the original theme tune which was perhaps 20 years ahead of its time!
I generally prefer my sci fi & fantasy darker (still have trouble taking the Daleks or Cybermen seriously), but I love the intricate sub-plots. (The amount of hours I've "wasted" reading back-story and conjecture about Lord of the Rings is frightening).

1) Catch up on 28 back seasons of Doctor Who.
2) Eat (I'm liable to be very hungry by this stage).
That's it, so far..![]()
~Shard~ said:I can help you with if you like - I have every episode archived on DVD in AVI format. It's about 180 GB I'm guessing, give or take...Just let me know if you'd like any episodes, because, well, I've got 'em all...

Jaffa Cake said:Of course, the main focus of the episode was the return of Sarah Jane and K9. It's interesting that the last series was really the first to focus on the family and friends of a companion, and how their 'disappearance' affected them last night we got to see how a companion is affected by being 'abandoned' by the Doctor. Rose's initial jealousy of Sarah Jane (which at first grated as being a tad predictable) was soon revealed to be more a fear of being treated in the same way dropped off somewhere to return back to her humdrum life, apparently forgotten about...
I got the original four Doctor Who episodes with Hartnell? starting with The Unearthly Child. It's nearly un-watcheable because it's so old and well, colorless.~Shard~ said:It's about 180 GB I'm guessing, give or take...Just let me know if you'd like any episodes, because, well, I've got 'em all...
