There's always the possibility that the Rani and her TARDIS (and possibly other Timelords/Ladys) managed to shelter in the Void, in a similar fashion to the Daleks we saw in Doomsday.
I hope not, I'd rather it be something to do with what The Face of Bo was going to tell the Doctor. Just my tuppence, the Void things been done, just seems a little too easy. I'd like an explanation of the Time War too as it's been mentioned but not explained.

Also off topic "Come On You 'atters" ;)

For the benefit of those lucky enough never to have watched an episode of 'Footballers Wives':

Erm... I don't know, she has certain points of benefit ;) , maybe she'd make a good Rani, you never know, I thought at first David Tennant wasn't a good idea and then again I thought Christopher Eccleston!?, but I think I'm right about Sylvester McCoy :D .

Hey guys, just catching up on the thread after 3 weeks of vacation... :)

Interesting revelation regarding the Rani - I would like to see it confirmed though for sure. I would have thought that if they brought any Timelord back, it would have been the Master, but the Rani could be cool as well. My only concern is with how they do it. I think they have created an excellent premise with the Doctor being the last of the Timelords as well as this whole unexplained "Time War", and I hope they don't spoil it though some plot contrivances or deus ex machina.

Does Time Machine remind anyone of Doctor Who? It needs a little TARDIS spinning around.

It's scary that I was thinking along the same lines.  I think when Leopard comes out I'm going to Candybar the Time Machine icon and replace it with a TARDIS. :D

What it really needs though is the TARDIS sound as it launches....:)

OK, i'm feeling lazy... what have I missed, since that woman was cast to replace Billy...

Has she been recast? She looks different...

Oh, and I guess I should watch the last episode of the last series now :p

Oooh, nice - that will require a little more creative hacking methinks... ;)

Oh, and hob, that blonde is supposedly the new Rani. Apparently the rumor is that they're bringing her back instead of the Master as the first other Timelord survivor of the Time War. In some ways I hope this rumor is false, but if it isn't, I sure hope they do it right...

The BBC has denied the "Rani returns" story. I'd guess somebody got mixed up, as "The Mark of the Rani" is soon to be released on DVD in the UK.

Anyway, I hope someone did.

The press release, linked a couple of posts up, has some info on season 3 and some pics of the doc and martha.

Time Machine (Leopard)

It apparently reminds someone at Apple. The video demo of Time Machine on the Apple web site shows the retrieving of lost contacts, and says Time Machine "can even reunite you with old friends." They then demonstrate it by searching for "Rose."

Ha! good catch!

Don't know if this is old news but they look good anyway, they're from the forthcoming Runaway Bride

Hehe! That is an excellent catch. Love it!

Set report from someone at OG, nothing very spoliery, but i'll put it in white..

Today's filming so far has been Ep 1 scenes 1--5, all of which were completed. The director, Charles Palmer, was on hand and was especially concerned to get enough footage of Freema walking down the street in order to cover the duration of her mobile phone dialogue, which'll obviously be dubbed on.

The last shot of scene 5 was Freema and a group of extras walking away from the camera, whereas the previous set-ups had all been face-on shots.

I managed to get a quick chat with Freema. The only thing I had on me that was even vaguely suitable for autographing purposes was... oh dear... the new Series 2 Companion. Freema very graciously signed it with the message "I'll be in the next one!".

And, not connected with today's shoot: I've been told that recent filming has taken place in the Care Science building of the Glyntaff (sp?) campus of Glamorgan University. This building houses a full mock-up of a hospital ward -- used for training purposes. As a location, it would fit very well with the press release news yesterday/today that Martha is a medical student...

Thanks for that - any little bit of news us Whovians can get during the slow summer and fall months until the Christmas Special airs is much appreciated! :D

Plus, we need to keep this thread alive afterall... ;)

So folks, what's up with the doctor's new companion? She was in the final episodes of the last season, but apparently she's meant to be a "medical student". Are they just using the same actress, or will there be some attempt to tie her appearance into the former story line?

No she's a "new" character, we'll have to forget her previous performance.

Supposedly no mention will be made that she looks like her "counterpart" from the end of last season. She is a completely different person in the show as far as I can tell. It will be along the same lines of how Colin Baker was actually a Royal Guard on Gallifrey (or whatever he was) before becoming the Doctor. Same actor, same show, completely different roles.

According to the actress there is a reason why the two characters look the same that will be explained..we'll see...
