According to the actress there is a reason why the two characters look the same that will be explained..we'll see...

Really? I didn't know that, interesting. Very cool then. I could see if she was her own "double" from the parallel universe, but both are (supposedly) from the same one. It will be interesting then to see how they handle this. Where exactly did you hear this rumor?

Oh, and nice pic. :D

Just checking back a few posts and noticed the link to the 3rd series info posted by Sky Blue. So the Doctor and Martha encounter a "sinister intelligence at work in 1930's New York"? Now, that sounds interesting. I wonder which bit of Cardiff will double for 30's NYC? The mind boggles!

P.S. 1000 posts! Well done everyone! Here's to the next 1K! :D

I wonder how many posts we'll hit if this new Doctor Who series runs as long as the classic series!

It was in the new doctor who magazine supposedly.

Any of you watch Totally Doctor Who? That's where I get all my behind-the-scenes Doctor Who news. :)

I never watched any of them until I started downloading the DVDs for this past season. Since they were included (along with the TARDISodes, previews, Confidentials, etc.) I have watched a few of them.

Yeah, those DVDs are awesome.

Indeed. Although I noticed something peculiar with at least a few of them when watching them in PowerDVD on my Windows box - the scroll bar doesn't just scroll through each chapter on its own, it scans through the whole DVD! I launched an episode, was trying to scan to the end of it, and found myself scrolling into the Confidential and the Totally Doctor Who! Ah well, not a big deal of course. ;)

Here's a little tidbit while we await the new series – apparently a Who spin off featuring Billie Piper was officially commissioned by the BBC, but was cancelled when Russell T Davies was sensible enough to realise it was actually a really, really bad idea... :D

Phew! Thank God! Interesting though, nonetheless... I think having Torchwood will be more than enough, as I have my concerns over how that's going to turn out as well. Any word on when it is supposed to premiere?

In October, apparently – it's going to be shown on BBC Three (one of the Beeb's digital-type channels) and if it takes off it might get an airing on BBC One. I've no idea if and when it might make it over to your shores, though.

Although I must admit BSG Season 3 will get top viewing priority over anything else at that time.
That counts for me, BSG is far and beyond anything shown on TV these days, BTW ~Shard~ is there an official BSG thread if so where, CIA.

I don't believe an official thread has been set up as of yet, just multiple discussion threads on the series. Perhaps with Season 3, we should start our own official thread. :)

Even if there was one, I wouldn't be participating in it up to this point, as I only discovered the amazing show that is BSG back in January. I watched the miniseries, watched all of Season 1, took a break to soak everything in (including that amazing cliffhanger!) and have just started watching Season 2. I am timing it so I won't have long to wait between the end of Season 2 (which I will be at in a few weeks) and Season 3's premiere. ;)

So yes, even if there was an official thread, I wouldn't have been participating since I would behind the times, and the spoilers would kill me! ;) But for Season 3, I'd be all over a BSG thread like white on rice. Maybe if no one else does, I'll start one up in a few weeks...

I think (the re-imagined) BSG is stand alone and is worthy of this with it's multifaceted story-line,

Good call (glad my enquiry was short, I would have really hated to have spoilt it for you) waiting for season 3 would equate to sticking cocktail sticks in my eyes, luckily I have the mini series and season 1 on DVD (I liked it that much I bought them and have started watching them again, it really amazes me how much you miss the first time around)

I fear I will be getting a nasty email again from my ISP about their fair usage policy when that happens

I say go for it, I'll contribute as this is a new found love of Sci-Fi (The original being Star Trek when it first aired in the UK), as much as I love Doctor Who I anticipate BSG season 3 more than the re-emergence of the good Doctor, probably because it is finite to Doctor Who's apparent infinity.

Just my tuppence worth ;) .

Thanks for the comments. :)

Yeah, I'll start up a BSG thread in a few weeks, closer to the premiere date, maybe mid-September or so, and will PM you when I do so we can get the thread started in style.

Unless someone beats me to it, which I hope won't happen. ;)

Here's a linky of some fan taken pics of filming in Coventry yesterday. Nothing very spoliery, probably for the Shakespeare episode.

Thanks for those! Always nice to have something to whet the appetite every couple weeks or so while we endure the long wait until the Christmas episode. ;)

Sweet! Thanks for the photos. I am so psyched about the coming year of Doctor Who. I'm curious if he will be wearing the Blue suit seen in some of the photos with Freema. You can't really tell in these, but he seems to perhaps have brown pants on...
