The Official Leopard Order Status Thread

Yeah, there have to be some benefits of being one of the first countries to experience October 26th! 🙂

The only downside is the 8 hour wait to get this bad boy installed... Damn you, regular employment that allows me to buy nice things like this OS, daaaaamn yoooou....

I ordered the family pack with my iPhone rebates (2), and it says FedEx picked it up or what ever. The status did change and I got the second email from Apple.

I agree. Considering the total number of packages FedEx delivers every day, I'd bet that Apple's deliveries are still a very small percentage of the total. It would be a PITA for FedEx to somehow make exceptions for a particular subset of deliveries.

The trucks are usually loaded in the morning and do not return to the depot until all packages are delivered. It'd be ridiculous for FedEx to do this, otherwise they would have told Apple to ship them overnight standard.
 
Apple sent me an email notification at 3:05 today telling me that my copy of Leopard has finally been shipped! I checked the order status and details on Apple's website and the shipping method is "Priority Overnite." However, FedEx still says they have no information for my tracking number in their system. Oh well! This gives me a lot more hope on getting it tomorrow. 🙂

EDIT: Refreshed the FedEx page. Mine's coming from Memphis, TN.
 
As expected my order shipped today via FedEx Overnight. It was picked up in Schaumburg, IL... a little further away than I expected. Predicted delivery by 10:30am though. 🙂
 
PUROLATOR has my copy. And I'm not liking it. I called them. It shipped yesterday at 8:30am and 24 hours later they got it to the boarder (they think) and it is sitting there waiting for customs (they think). IF it is release tonight (maybe, they don't know), then I will receive it on Tuesday (they hope).

That part of that is "priority overnight"?!?!?! To me, that means at the MOST 2 business days, but I guess to Purolator it means 4 to 5. If my local third party store has 10.5 tomorrow and see if I can get it there.

Got my shipping confirmation, it was picked up in Texas at 6AM heading to me in NY. Can't wait, 10:30 tomorrow!
 
It is 2:45 here in Ca and just got my shipping confirmation from Schaumberg, Ill priority overnight. The Fed-ex planes are going to be packed to the brim tonight.

It sounds like I'm in the same position and you and frankly, that's pretty stupid. I don't care if they don't follow through on "priority overnight" but man, if Apple is going to promise on-time delivery, they really shouldn't use Purolator. They're absolutely awful.
 
Purolator says Shipment In Transit from TORONTO SORT CTR/CTR TRIE, ON.
OCTOBER 25, 2007 AT 19:11. I hope that it gets here to me in Edmonton by tomorrow or it will be a long weekend!
 
Funny. The folks getting it from Schaumburg, IL seem far from IL (CA,WV, etc) - where I in IL am getting it from TN and not IL.

It's almost as if they used farther away shipping hubs to eliminate the freek chance we'd get it today? Also funny is we all know we're getting it tomorrow and likely early. A 99.9% chance. But it's just so deliciously fun to track the big arrival, fret over it, and post isn't it? 😛

FedEx is shipping the order as we speak. I am going in to work late to ensure I get it and will install Leo at work with my macbook. I can't wait!

Mine, too. I'm less than three hours from Memphis. FedEx will drive it down and make a profit on my delivery. I've already signed my release form to have them leave it at the front door. My wife will be home, so it won't stay outside long if it does at all.

Ahh, the fun of new Apple products!!! 😀
 
Last week I ordered it and selected 2-day shipping then printed the invoice. I got the email early today saying it had shipped. Two things:

1) The order status says the price is $10 and shipping priority overnite. Nice. Saved me $10 and get it faster
2) Clicking on the tracking number link yields something other than my order. Some package from April 26, 2006 to Canada that was delivered. FedEx's system isn't correct?

Now the date is correct and it has left Ontario, Canada. Weird. Canada to Chapel Hill, NC?

So it seems like Apple has boosted all pre-orders to priority overnight. Is that correct?

mine said the same thing, weird doing themselves a lot of work.

The suspense of everyones orders are killing me!
