I want Italy to win but if France wins that will be ok because I will be in Paris in 5 days so I don't want everyone to be in a bad mood...

nothing would please me more then to see the French beat Italy, the only worse thing then an Italian fan, is when the Italian fans team wins.

Let's not forget that if oscars were given out for best dives in a soccer game, the Italian team would win everytime.

The Froggies seem better divers thus far, and I should know for I am a PADI divemaster!!!

Forza Azzurri !!!

1-0 Already. Lots of drama so far. The penalty did actually seem like a dive on the replays.

The defender moved to tackle the player at two points, but pulled away both times. On the replays it didn't look like there was contact, but live it most certainly looked like it, so I don't blame the judge.

it didn't seem like a dive to me, it just honestly looked to me like he tripped, which obviously doesn't warrant a penalty... you had to say zidane deserved a goal for that penalty though, it was gorgeous.

Ok the Half time is over now lets see the tied game continue. GO ITALY!!!!!!!

Yeah, zach, I can agree with that. It is very possible to stumble in such a situation without being obviously tackled. What's questionable is whether or not the defender did anything wrong. The defender must take part of the blame for making it look like he does a tackle even if he did manage to pull back at the last millisecond, though.

Edit: Henry is just a fantastic player!

Malouda should have had a penalty, though, so if it goes bad for Italy, they can't complain.

Welcome to my world! :p

Al, does this answer some of the "never turns up for the big occasions" criticisms.. when he turns up for *the* biggest occasion.

Come on France. Come on. Allez les bleus! :D

*crosses fingers*

OT, here we come. ZZ looks tired and he's banged up, Ribery looks tired. Vieira's out. Let's see if the old men can go to the well and still survive.

What the hell?

I wouldn't say he has been that good at all in this, he has harried the defence but has not once had a clear cut chance. I've seen henry play ten times better than this, looks like people are listening to the commentator to much. the defence has had him well covered and he hasnt had a clear cut chance ( i didnt watch the first ten minutes)

He has been OK, better than most of the big occasions, but he really hasn't set anything alight and doesn't look like a match winner (if that hasnt set him up for a last minute winner i don't know what has)

As for not turning up in big games... love the goals he has scored in the fa cup finals, world cup finals, european cup final, euro championship cup final and uefa cup final that he has played....

Even if he scores the winner - it doesnt make much difference because of all the other games... if i was a france supporter i would be unhappy with henry.. running lots, tackled everytime. if i was an italian fan, i would be praising cannavaro.. because he has dealt with him like any other player.

I also dont say he NEVER turns up, I say for such a wonderful player he never has as big of an impact as his reputation dictates

And Henry's off... looks like he won't be conjuring us up a winner.

He will be responsible through telekinesis, henry is the best player in the world, he can do no wrong.. yet another goal scored in a big final.... not

Don't get me wrong, i think he is brilliant, i think he is a fantastic player.

That was the most stupid thing I've ever seen from Zidane but - Matterazzi must really have said something bad for that reaction...

Madness!

what the hell did zidane do that for :O

i can't believe that...

What a bloody idiot.

Letting himself go like that on his last game in a WC Final.
He surely has been infuriated by something.... but he knew the whole world would see this.

Absolutely no excuse for that...way to end his international career.

Classless doesn't begin to describe it...

That was *disgraceful* behaviour - but hopefully now Italy can take advantage of that and score before the dreaded penalty shootout...
