Did you actually read what I wrote?

I have never emulated windows or have a need to run windows programs. I am an AI/ML researcher, so I do need to VM Linux quite often.

And I have not mentioned games once on this forum, and haven't really played games in adulthood.

Maybe you should graduate from 6th grade reading level before replying on this forums?
Ha, you are right, but I didn't meant to quote your post, but the original one (first in this thread). I guess I hit wrong button. Sorry, my bad.

Not a problem.

We are all in the hurry and misread stuff at some point.

And didn't meant to be so harsh on my original reply.

Everybody please:

Why do people engage with posters who just refuse to believe any evidence that contradicts their point of view and refuse to participate in a productive conversation.

All I will say is, look at the recent threads that the OP has started and judge for yourselves.

This post is akin to saying the M1 Max MacBook Pro can't open my bottle of beer better than a 2$ can opener, so it SUCKS!! LOL!

Even LOL, CSGO don’t have M1 native version? I thought it should exist, M1 has been out like a year.
No. They don’t have and they will never have. Who buys $3000 machine for gaming that is not running windows or Linux anyways.

These Maxtech guys are not legit laptop reviewers, they are more or less benchmark-heads that dont really understand the benches they are running or the nuiance that go into analyzing them. Their "review" generally consists of rifling through dozens of benchmarks with almost zero analysis that good outlets like anandtech or arstechnica go through. And they take into no consideration real world usage scenarios, and gives no thought on usage away from an office desk.
But they yell in an authoritative voice. Sheeple must listen.

I did a little google research today and found out many users are complaining about slow apps especially the starting time compared with windows. Many users are saying non apple apps are slow. But also apple apps are like safari. This seems to be a very common thing.

The m1 and m1 pro is so snappy according too youtubers. But it isn't. A pc is much faster. I do ask myself why the hell should someone defend this buggy, slow system? Because it's fast within final cut etc. ? The base usage is not premium for 3000 - 6000 euros. Complete fail in my opinion.

The only purpose where m1 can shine is ios.

Is this a parody account? My M1 Pro 16” destroys my i9 model that it replaces. Editing on it is a dream. Handles raw files without blinking. Massive improvement in performance in all apps I’ve used in every metric.

Additionally battery life is probably double. Screen also absolutely destroys the old model. It’s an amazing computer.

May be only work well for few apps that has been totally re-coded for M1

@cap7ainclu7ch

i9 8th or 10th gen is pretty old 14 nm cpus. Not new system. My 11800H and 5900X destroys the m1 pro completly in terms of desktop usage and apps starting. This loading times are pure horror for such an expensive system. Nothing instant. It's laggy.

@babyexercise

I think they have stripped the arm too much for their apple apps, so it's slow for other executions.

I have a 10900K/3080 Ti desktop running an all core OC at 5.3ghz with 4400mhz ram and this laptop opens apps faster and overall feels more responsive. Clearly you are either a troll or you have a defective product.

Old 14 nm tec. I have 5900X MP600 pcie gen 4 ssd 5000 Mbyte/s read and write and it's much faster.

I owned this 14 nm intels up to 9900K @ 5.2 ghz all cores and also 11700K rocket lake. It's slow compared with 5900X with its huge cache.

I can assure you that I'd get higher frames than you with my delidded 10900KF on a full custom loop at 5.3ghz locked on all 10 cores with fast memory. Ryzen's don't like fast RAM and it hurts them a lot in gaming. All core OC at 5.3 with the cache at 5.0ghz with 4400mhz ram is going to beat a 5900.

Nope, it's slower. Look for reviews. I can overclock my 5900X to 4.5 ghz all cores, its much faster than 14 nm cpus @ 5.2 ghz.

Idk why I'm arguing with you, but the 10900 ties or beats the 5900 in most games stock for stock and the 10900 has much more OC headroom than the 5900, especially with memory.

I'm also writing these comments with about 50 tabs open on this beautiful MBP. Snappy as can be.

Why don't you go run Time Spy and get back to me. My CPU score in that is right under 16k.

Lol, this videos are fake. They also exist in the same style for not released Alder Lake. Everyone who knows this cpus understands why ryzen 3rd gen is much better than intel. But it's offtopic. So i will not respond further.

The M1 Pro isn't snappy for app starting and tabs handling. It's pretty slow.

Go look up the 3D mark Time Spy scores. The best 10900k's are hitting 20k+ cpu scores with the best 5900x's hitting 17k. The 10900k is better for gaming if you are willing to tune it.

Also nobody cares about me derailing your M1 MBP trolling thread.

Sounds like you have a defective unit? My M1 Max is extremely fast at everything I’ve thrown at it. Instant start-up, instant wake from sleep, instant Chrome load, super fast website loading with 30+ tabs open, smooth and fast photoshop interface with huge 5+ GB files open, no lag when scrolling through and editing 40+ page document in InDesign, etc all without zero fan noise. It makes my 2020 16” Intel i9 MBP look like a hot mess. I’ve never been able to work like this before on a laptop, period.
