I like the 14 plus and appreciate its weight/size ratio, feels pretty light in person. But I want my next phone to last for around 3 years and don’t think i can justify no telephoto again. The regular line up should at least be equipped with a basic telephoto like the one from the 11 pros.

I think it’s pretty stingy of any manufacturer in 2022 to be selling a £949+ phone with only a dual camera system on it to be brutally honest. Apple have milked that one for too many years now.

I think too many people are busy comparing and putting the 14 Plus down as being iPhone 13 Pro Max from last year just repackaged with 1 less camera dont realize that it packs some significant improvements:

Things the iPhone 14 / 14 Plus has but missing in the 13 Pro / 13 PM:
  • Emergency SOS via satellite* [*Launching in Canada and USA first, supported in all 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max]
  • Crash Detection
  • Photonic Engine for incredible detail and colour
  • X65 Modem [Better LTE / 5G Connectivity]
  • Action mode
  • Bluetooth 5.3

13 Pro / 13 Pro Max Has / Does better than iPhone 14 / 14 Plus:
  • Telephoto 3rd Camera
  • 3x optical zoom in / 2x optical zoom out / 6x optical zoom range / Digital zoom up to 15x
  • 1TB
  • ProMotion technology with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz
  • Night mode portraits
  • Macro photography + Macro video recording, including slo‑mo and time‑lapse
  • Apple ProRAW + ProRes video recording up to 4K at 30 fps (1080p at 30 fps for 128GB capacity)
  • LiDAR Scanner
Not to mention the 14 Plus has a huge battery life!

One charge and I am good for 3 days while my 12 Pro needed to be charged every other day!

I wasn’t talking about Apple being mocked by other manufacturers. I don’t pay any attention to that or have little knowledge of it.
I believe I get what you mean then. Nonetheless, I fully agree. I'm not a fan of the "Pro" iPhone and iPad structure personally, and leaving things out that should just be included and then saving things for only the higher end iPhones.
