Jaffa Cake said:Hmm... rumours this morning that Chelsea are looking to buy Earls Court Exhibition Centre, as the site for a new 65,000-seater stadium. Apparently, Abramovich isn't happy with the lack of expansion options at 42,000-seat Stamford Bridge and wants to relocate...
Blue Velvet said:Earl's Court Exhibtion Centre is an antiquated behemoth. It could be put to a much better use......good transport links too. Used to live in Earls Court.
Could still be a goer. Even with a massive stadium on the site there would still be plenty of room for other developments alongside, and the idea of having a casino next to your nice shiny stadium is surely an attractive one for a lot of chairmen. Quite a few clubs expressed an interest when the gambling laws were under review – Leeds United, Birmingham City, Manchester United, Rangers... heck there was even talk for a while of us having one next to the KC!Kernow said:When all the gambling laws were being shaken up, I had heard rumors that it was going to be converted into Las Vegas style mega-casino, but I'm not sure what happened to this idea.
All down to the superior youth system and investement from Arsenal apparantly. Nice to see the Chelsea big bucks don't get their way all of the time!XIII said:Theo Walcott is an Arsenal player.
£5 mill upfront, possibly up to £12 mill. Its good for football he turned down Chelsea, who would've been offering more. And even better for Arsenal!![]()

Must be tough to loose to Blackburn... I wouldn't be surprised if he's out of a job come Monday...Piarco75 said:Anyone else who thinks Sourness will be gone soon? I thought he'd be a goner a lot earlier than now - even put a bid on at the end of last season that he'd be gone by Xmas... got 14-1 and he didn't oblige![]()

He's been on borrowed time since the day he took over like you, I'm surprised he's still there. The boardroom at Newcastle United doesn't have a reputation for being very forgiving when it comes to their managers, and he hasn't exactly done much to cover himself in glory so far.Piarco75 said:Anyone else who thinks Sourness will be gone soon?
