OK, what are your predictions on tomorrow's score in the big game?

Chelsea v. Charlton? :p

No, but seriously... Man Utd. v. Liverpool? 2-2 I reckon.

What a little tease you are Blue...;)

I've got 2-0 Liverpool, Gerrard and Crouch, Rooney gets sent off for being ugly.

2-0 Riise from one of his trademark volleys from a Gerrard corner, and finally Sissoko will open his scoring account;)

More fallout from the News of The World Sven sting – our favourite adulterous Swede apparently spilled the beans to their undercover reporter about corruption at three top Premiership clubs – mainly connected to illegal payments in transfer dealings. The paper doesn't name the clubs directly (due to legal reasons) but apparently does drop some clues – and of course this new story follows on from Mike Newell's recent comments about 'bung' culture and illegal payments being rife in English football.

And now he's gone. Well, not actually now, but it's been announced this evening that he's leaving the England job after this summer's World Cup. I suppose now the speculation about who is going to be the next England manager can really begin in earnest...

Sam Allardyce is the bookies favorite at the mo... :D

The BBC said:
SVEN'S SUCCESSOR
Sam Allardyce 5/2
Steve McClaren 7/2
Ottmar Hitzfeld 8/1
Martin O'Neill 10/1
Steve Bruce 12/1
Sir Trevor Brooking 20/1
Kevin Keegan 100/1

Indeed – and of interest to the various Arsenal and Chelsea fans here Arsene Wenger is at 33/1 and The Special One is at 25/1. As for the Scousers, Rafa doesn't seem to have made the BBC's shortlist.

Hmm... Peter Taylor at 40/1... maybe he can do England part-time to go along with his Hull City and England U21 managerial posts? :D

Gunners fan here.

Yeah... I know I'm Dutch, but I was brought up in England (till I was 9), and went to Highbury with my Dad a couple of times back then. Been a follower ever since.
Nowadays we try to make this trip an annual fixture!

So much more fun than our league over here....

Hi,

Same, I'm a gunner fan too!! Long live Arsenal and Dennis Bergkamp.
My favourite player is Henry of course...

Sushi7 ;)

If only Chelsea would lose today as well as Arsenal and Man U. Bring on Fowler!

Following on from our recent Souness speculation, Newcastle have today given him the sack. Glenn Roeder has taken over as caretaker manager, with Princess Shearer installed as his assistant.

Thing is, because neither of them have the relevant coaching badges, it's only a temporary appointment. Shearer, however, is in the process of taking his. What do you reckon the chances are of him taking the full managers job once he's got the relevant paperwork and a bit of managerial experience from being Roeder's second-in-command?

It was waiting to happen, wasn't it.. Souness to go.

I think Newcastle will get someone else in before Shearer actually.

Following on from our recent mention of Shearer – he's just bagged the goal (the 201st) that makes him Newcastle United's all-time leading goalscorer.

What with that and becoming assistant manager it's been an eventful week for him...

I've been known to share Pondus strips every now and then. Mostly over in the Liverpool FC thread, because the Pondus maker is a Liverpool fan and most of the football jokes are about LFC, but sometimes a more general foortball themed one comes along...

Enjoy... ;)

Everton managed to secure another 1-0 victory... this time with only 10 men for almost the entire game... :D

What's up with Chelski...? I woudn't think they were that tired after the easy win on Wednesday...? :( :p On the other hand Middlesbrough is a very strange team...

Gonna be an interesting MOTD!
Would be great if Portsmouth could get a point (or even three) from that game... :D

Would be a good weekend, then... :) not counting Hyypiä's goal... :(

And it seems getting rid of Souness has done wonders for Newcastle... like we didn't know that... :D

MIDDLESBOROUGH! :D:D:D:D:D

Woo hoo!

BTW, I was at Arsenal vs. Bolton. Very wierd game. We played them off the pitch in the second half - chance after chance after chance being saved. It was very emotional when we equalised in extra time.. tears of happiness almost.

I will talk more later - very good stuff.

Nice to hear Arsenal played well...
But... if i watch MOTD later, I assume I am to get pretty frustated we didn't win a game we should've?

I am trying to arrange the Arsenal - Aston Villa game on April fools...
I would love to go to Highbury just once more this season! Now apart from my tickets, plane tickets, and hotel reservations, I am almost there! :D

Watching the second half will be frustrating. Watching the first half you will be feeling like "who the hell is this team".
