:) I agree, it is better. The comparison in the top left shows it best. On this subject, I'm pretty sure we were wearing different lettering and numbering in our CL qualifying games against Zagreb than we have done in every other Premiership, CL, CC or FA Cup game. Seems a bit strange. You can see it on the back of their shirts in this clip.

Indeed. In League Cup and FA Cup games teams have to wear their league numbers (be it Premier League, Football League, Conference or lower), but in European competition the teams are free to wear numbers in any style they choose, subject to UEFA rules regarding size and stuff.

Generally teams use the current typeface of their kit suppliers – to use your club as an example, Arsenal wear the standard Nike numbers when competing on the continent. If the Gunners were wearing a different typeface during their Champions League qualifiers it would probably have been due to the games taking place prior to the new Nike lettering style being released (what with it being pre-season and all). I didn't view all the clip as it isn't really dial-up friendly, but I think the lettering used there was the current Nike style – I might be wrong though. ;)

Ok, that makes sense. I haven't really looked at what we wore in the CL this season, but I guess it was the same. I just noticed in the qualifiers. I prefer that lettering to the FA style.. although I will reserve judgement on the revised style until I have seen it.

Well, that's Luton vs. Watford avoided for another season.

Only two places left to avoid now Jaffa :)

Indeed, your hatters-in-law are officially down. Commiserations to HydroMan if he sticks his head in here.

I'm not feeling confident about our match against Stoke tomorrow. They're very dominant physically (as we learnt at the match at the KC earlier in the season), they like to dominate the midfield (er... we don't have one of those), like to play with width (er... we don't have any of that), and have one of the best defensive records in the division while we struggle to create chances.

Just so long as we better Leeds' result I'll be happy, and if Barnsley, Leicester and QPR drop points too then I'll be especially pleased. If we somehow conspire to snatch a win then I'll be ecstatic.

Nervous times ahead.

Spurs up 1-0 at half time, I wonder if Arsenal can scrape points out of this losing position like that have most of the season.

Scrape is a little harsh, given we hit the post 3 times, and scored twice. Clearly should've won, but we messed it up. Oh well, not too fussed, CL place should be safe anyway.

"Phones out! For Jermaine! Get your phones out for Jermaine!"

"Ashley's boyfriend..! Ashley's boyfriend..!"

Not harsh considering when it was posted, Spurs were better first half and Arsenal much better second. Lack of finishing skills still a problem though.

Spurs reminded me of Roma the other week, just caved in.

Quality strike from Jenas, who was and is *****.

But have 3 home games, 1 away. United it is the opposite.

True. Pretty much every game is a cup final in terms of the stakes being high, both teams must not drop points if they want to take the trophy, since I doubt we'll have a repeat of this weekend.

I also think the Champions League is a toss-up between the final four, though Liverpool have nothing else to play for and AC Milan have done it more than anyone else...

It's going to be a very exciting few weeks - and I hope it comes down to the last match!

wine for my men we ride at dawn

Moses said come forth, but we came first

What about that Wayne Rooney then eh? Bit good isn't he? :p

That was really clutch. I was getting used to only seeing Chelsea eke out the final-minute goals.

Early in the game it looked like Kaka was going to really carry Milan, then it turned out to he was the only one to show up for them. That second goal where two Man U defenders ran into each other was priceless, the kind of thing you see in a cartoon.

Lucky b*st*rds...I'd love to watch the games but can't afford the satellite prices right now...

Man U have their work cut out for them in the second leg, I don't think it will be another 7-1 Roma game for them.

CL has been airing on ESPN2, so you might be able to find it at someone else's house. I've been recording it during the day and watching at night. I often turn the sound down because ESPN's announcers suck in the worst way.

Yeah, my buddy with ESPN is moving, so I can't do that...I was going to get Setanta Sports on ITVn but you have to sign up for a 1 year contract and I'll be traveling this summer, so I'm going to wait till August on that.

Too bad the BBC blocks the radio broadcast over the net...
