I suppose Beckham wasn't too hot for England at the time. But yeah, get rid of Lampard. Against Germany I would like to see:

Wright-Phillips Carrick J.Cole Downing/A. Cole acroos the park but it aint going to happen

What about Kevin Nolan?

I hope McLaren doesn't play Gerrard...his fracture is not as bad as Rooney's apparently, but the thought of him be being injured for two months....!

Kevin Nolan? Good. Not good enough for England. Neither is Joey Barton. Or Steven Taylor for that matter.

Gerrard's fracture is in his toe, IIRC. So he shouldn't be out as long.

I've actually been reasonable impressed with Fox Soccer Channel so far. I'd like a bit more French league coverage, but apart from that it's pretty thorough.
From an English point of view, I take it it's just Premier League matches and the odd cup game you get? If it's Championship fixtures and beyond as well then your subscription is worth its weight in gold.

The majority appear to be Premier League matches, with some Italian League and Argentinian League thrown in for good measure.
The highlight shows tend to be a bit wider-ranging, though.

Here's the broadcast lineup for this week: linky

Holy cow, did they change their name to "The Pimps"? :D:eek:

An American football team, the Cincinnati Bengals, has a similarly designed helmet, which I think is just as ugly. The difference is they've been using it for as long as I've been alive!

Good point, well made.

On that note, this storycaught my eye a day or two ago. That shirt always comes up in these polls, most people seem to have forgotten though that the one that replaced it was even worse. :p

The article also says that it was 'hastily replaced' after only one season, it actually lasted a season-and-a-half so there! ;)

What ashirt, i actually prefer it to this abomination.

Remember they claimed they were losing because they couldn't see each other, not a problem with that hull shirt.

I remember that game, away to Southampton in 1996. They were 3-0 down at half time, changed from their grey kit to their other alternative kit (blue/white), still lost the game 3-1.

Funnily enough, the next season they lost to Southampton 6-3.

Speaking of horrible shirts, have you seen Chelsea's away kit

It looks like what the stewards wear. Maybe they're trying to save money on floodlights by lighting themselves.

Fantastic! City beat United 1-0. Amazing match by young Micah Richards in the City defence... I can see what "everybody" wanted him... :D

This almost makes up for yesterday's bad luck... two frelling shots on the inside of the post... <mumble mumble>

That was ridiculous, Rob Styles so not ref a premiership match again. Firstly what the hell was that penalty decision, second he didn't see at least 4 kick outs by Chelsea players, and thirdly not matter what he says after the match he booked either Ben haim or eissien (?) twice without sending them off.

Absolutely appalling, pardon the pun but we were robbed.

Good to see another howler from Lehman though.

I am ****ing livid.

What a travesty! The ref turns out to be Chelsea's 12th man on the field with a shocking penalty call.

Mikel should have been sent off for lunging at Gerrard while on the ground. I'm not sure what happened with the "2nd" yellow card on Ben Haim.

Fantastic goal from Torres though, and Gerrard's fracture seems to have dulled his game a bit.

Is it just me or were there an exceedingly large number of yellow cards given out during that game? Lucky for Chelsea none of those shots at the end came through, there were a lot of them. But luckily, as usual, our favourite scrum cap wielding keeper stopped that from happening!

That might be the worst refereed game i've ever seen. Rob Styles should be suspended. Not only a non penalty, and a rash of yellow cards, but did anyone else notice that he always seemed to be in the way of the play.

Seems that Styles was showing the card to Terry, not Essien or Ben Haim. I'm surprised nobody was sent off.

The scousers have already defaced Styles' Wikipedia entry. :D

Thats what he says but there is not a single doubt in my mind that he was showing it to eissen as well. They just showed it and it was clear as day. He showed terry the yellow then showed it again to eissen, how can he claim he didn't. Absolutely applaing, also he didn't noticed Mikels kick out, plus Maludoa's two kick outs and there was at least another one.

He was as someone else pointed out in the way an awful lot but I suppose that is because he can't see very far so has to be close to the action.

No, we've always been quite honest and open about the fact that when we lose it's down to our own ineptitude. ;)

Miss Jaffa Cake's brother has one. When he wears it and stands next to a wall, the wall glows. Seriously. :p

And I agree about Mr Styles – terrible officiating, the penalty and card incident stand out in particular. Thing is, if he's punished it'll mean he'll get a few more games in the lower leagues to officiate, so the rest of us will have to put up with similar displays of shoddiness.

I just finished watching the Arsenal match. Wow, what a howler again from Lehmann... :(
Good goal from RVP, and I enjoyed seeing Theo get some actual playing time.

Watching the Liverpool match now, sounds interesting though.

I'm liking my subscription to FSC, that's for sure.
