Another thing on my mind is how the seedings work for the Carling Cup? As I see Hull are not playing this evening, but other Championship clubs are?
That's because we're playing tomorrow, away at Crewe. ;)

It's one of only two ties being played tomorrow – the other being Wolves v Bradford – but I don't know why that is, nor why fans of Rotherham and Sheffield Wednesday have to wait until Thursday to see their teams meet.

I believe he's on holiday at the moment, but I reckon it's a safe bet he'll be back before too long bemoaning the Gunner's fortunes. ;)

Backkk...

How predictable I would read this thread first. All I've got is the result really for our match, don't know how the team played. Pleased to see Hleb score though.. something he showed a remarkable skill for not being able to do last season. Also I think its extremely harsh on Gilberto making Willie 'the ****' Gallas captain ahead of him.

Spurs start to the season, hahahaha... What can I say. :D Speaking of Spurs, got my ticket sorted for Spurs away in September, and for West Ham away.. Going to do Chelsea, Liverpool and Yoonited away too this season I think.

Gotta love having football back.

Nice to have you back, XIII. I've got the Fulham game on my DVR, so I'm going to give it a watch tonight. I'm looking forward to this season, especially since I just got Fox Soccer Channel and a new TV, so I can actually watch most of the matches. Should be fun!

Thanks.

Good good, look forward to talking about them throughout the season then! Sparta Prague tonight, tough game actually.

9 changes for Hull City though, Crewe gonna upset?
Two changes I approve of – replacing Coles with Turner in defence and finally Ashbee is dropped – although I suspect it will only be temporary. Plus Nicky Featherstone – a promising looking youngster – gets his first senior start so that gets the thumbs up from me.

Can't say I'm too happy about Delaney being at left back, but we'll see...

Good thing about the cup, the younger and fringe lads get a start. Which is sometimes a great thing, sometimes not so.

After all, it is only the Carling Cup. ;) Carlisle are already further than they got last year, knocked out in the first round by Swindon last year.

Edit: I see Bridges has started. Did he start at the weekend Jaffa?

No, he came on as a second half substitute though.

And not only has your old friend Bridges started tonight, he's just opened the scoring following a penalty. You can tell Bridges is a proper Tiger now in the way he scored – he had his penalty saved, then scored from the rebound. That's how we score all our penalties, and perhaps offers an explanation of why we're so rubbish at penalty shootouts.

I see that, yeah. According to SSN he was showing his 'PL Class' earlier on.

The first half in Prague was a drab affair from what I can gather..

Yeah, sounds like it from what I can gather. Shame its not on the Tele. With like ITV29 now, you'd think they'd have it.

And he's just laid on an excellent pass to allow Richard Garcia to score City's second.

This of course is the player who couldn't even buy himself a place on the bench for most of last season...

EDIT: Splendid – 3-0 now, as nippy striker Stephen McPhee scores his first goal for the Tigers since he completed his transfer to the KC. In 2005.

It was on Setanta.

Nice one Ronaldo.. and nice one United. Brilliant.

Manchester United is the last team I would expect to fail to win either of its first two matches. 4 points down on Chelski!

I watched the first half of the Arsenal - Sparta Prague game...boring.

This is how we started the season last year, with 2 draws, and then a loss to Man City in the third game... :D

Well we need to win the Manchester Derby, its as simple as that. I am honestly so depressed. I sat up till midnight last night mulling it over.

However, the last time we drew our opening 2 games, was the treble season. :)

Hey, do you guys play Fantasy Premier League?

Would there be enough interest to start a MacRumors league?

So Manchester United's start indicates either a trophyless season and finishing way off the title pace (the Arsenal 06/07 approach) or that they're going to win everything in sight (the Man Utd 98/99 approach)? Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen!

Meanwhile, they wouldn't let it lie...

EDIT:

Hmm... I might be interested in that.

I fear at the moment, it may be he former, but its 2 games in and you never know. I think we've had two hard games so far (More so Fratton Park where we've never really got a result) so we'll see.

And yes, Sheff United need to focus on other things now, I'm afraid.

Fantasy Sounds fun, I'd be really interested also.

Ok, I made a league. The code to join is 653236-172561.

Others interested the link to sign up for fantasy is here
