FYI, iOS 7.1 beta 2 fixes the green bar at the top of the screen being nigh unreadable (it's now more of a mint green than a highlighter-pen green), and also addresses the speed issues.

VERY pleased about that.

Thanks for the info, although this thread is from July - before iOS 7.0 was released!

Yes I know (I started it, lol). Nothing really changed from the early iOS 7 betas, though. Finally we're getting the speed improvements and fine-tuning that should have been there from the start.

From what I've heard, this isn't the case in iOS 7.1. I can't wait for iOS 7.1. It seems like a very good update and we've only had two betas so far!

I posted that in July, when it was a beta. Why quote me now?
To point out how pointless your comment was back then. By saying "it's a beta", you're basically saying: "your post is irrelevant". However, the problem continues to exist to this very day and the problem is still very relevant, so his post was not irrelevant at all.

It is impossible to tell whether a problem in a beta will get fixed in the final version, saying "it's a beta" doesn't mean anything for that reason.

'Its a beta' is thrown around willy nilly these days. Though it's true, it's not the answer to every complaint. But what can you do.

How often do you boot? 1-2 times a month? Oh noes..

Hardly ever reboot but that's not my point. It's an interesting performance metric.

Considering the gulf in performance between the air and first gen you have to wonder why 7 is so slow vs.iOS 5 and 6.

Day to day use for me, I appreciate safari gestures and control center, but apart from those things and a new look, what has iOS 7 brought that warrants that kind of performance penalty?

From what I've read, it sounds like iOS 7 has been sped up in the betas. I think you'll find 7.1 will be a huge improvement in performance and animation speed.

iOS 7 jb > SprinboardSettings > Animation Overrides > Slow Factor 0.7 or 0.65
That's how I like the speed of iOS 7.0.4 :)
