Silver 16gb wifi.

I hope you are right, just ordered the same one for $80 less than Apple sell, only had the choice of white and silver. Will be my first white iPad, will mainly be for books so should be ok. Was going to get a Samsung Tab pro 8.4 but this deal less tax was same price.
Won't be selling my Air though.

its what the ipad mini should've been in the first place. but apple got it perfect this time. it could only get better, like including touchID and revamped internals.. I'm happy with the current one. however, I know apple cannot sit on its laurels long enough, they need to release a redesign soon. Maybe 2015 is an all new rMini.

I love mine too!

I remember thinking the iPad mini was dumb when it first came out cause it wasn't much smaller than the regular iPad. Then I played with it in the Apple store and immediately realized how wrong I was. Physically, its perfect. I loved the size and form factor MUCH better than my iPad 3. However, at the time, it wasn't retina and I didn't want scratched eyeballs from all the jaggys so I held off.

Then when the retina model came out I jumped on it and have been in heaven ever since. the device is just so perfect in every way. Looks great, feels great, nice and light, sick battery life, it goes on and on.

I have the 128gb black one and while I love it, I do regret not getting LTE. I'm currently moving and internet is sketchy while I'm between places and having LTE on the iPad would rule. Surfing on my ridiculously tiny iPhone sucks.

This has been my experience as well. I jumped on the rMini as soon as it was available. I wanted a 128 LTE black but had to settle for a 64 LTE white, which was the largest capacity available at an Apple Store near me. Since my iPad 3 was also a 64 LTE and I hadn't filled it up, I figured an rMini 64 LTE would be OK, especially because it would be my personal device vs. a family device. As this thread suggests, it is a gorgeous device and a pleasure to use. I pick it up so much more than the iPad 3. It goes with me everywhere, so I have more opportunities to use it, and with the LTE, I never worry about being near Wi-Fi. I use it to read, navigate and play music in the car, watch NetFlix, web browsing, email, iMessage, connect to my corporate iOS environment, write songs, sketch/draw ... anything really. For me, it is the perfect size with the perfect set of features.

Yeah, I have had an iPad Mini Retina for some months and it's great piece of tech. I want to get the iPad mini 4 in the future and the iPhone 6. The only SERIOUS problem it's given me is battery life.

my rMini battery lasts forever.. so I can't say I can relate with the battery issue.

Yeah I don't get the battery comment. It was the best thing about the tablet when i had it. For me, it lasted for days.

2015? why wouldn't they release a new one this year??

They will release one this year...I am just saying that I want to get the most out of my Retina Mini and will only upgrade to he iPad Mini 4th Gen.

As for the battery issue, I just reset my iPad mini Retina and it seems to be doing great with battery life after resetting it. I will call Apple and talk to them about it. I have included a screenshot from it.:apple:

Tell me what you guys think about the screenshot and it's info (89% with 3hr 11 min usage)!

I just did this exact switch and haven't looked back. Love my LTE retina mini.

I am keeping my Air LTE for travelling with maps and bigger screen for newspapers/tv/movies. Will use my mini wifi for mainly books and sonos controller at home. If the mini wins me over i may sell both end of year and get the new LTE mini. I had a first gen mini bit didn't like the non retina.

the Retina iPad mini is such a gorgeous piece of tech

I absolutely love the mini. It could be a bit bigger I suppose, but I love it. 32 GB

I got my mini retina LTE 128 about 6 months ago and yes it s a great piece of tech.
must admit I have not used it much because i use my ipad at home and i have the ipad 4 also and love the bigger screen.
The mini retina was supposed to be used on vacation and small one day travels but not much vacation or one day travel in my life so...

If i could go back i would have gone with the air.

the one being released this year is the same form factor as the current just minor improvements. I'm referring to an actual remodel of the rMini.. which is probably 2015.

So you're saying I should wait for the 4th gen iPad mini because this year will it yield any MAJOR improvements?:apple::rolleyes:

I have a strong feeling its going to be a big redesign.. but never hold off on something that far away. my rule is 4 months and below. meaning if you anticipate or if its rumored that the new one is coming out within 4 months or less, I would wait. anything more than that, I would just buy whatever model is out now and just sell it later.

This year or next year is going to be the redesign in your opinion?

next year.. this year it's rumored to be no form factor changes just internal and touchID. I would love to have a redesign tho but I doubt it. next year more than likely.

I think your battery life is great. I get around 10 hours, but that is at 60% brightness with bluetooth and LTE on. The longer the better, but recharging is no big problem here.

I love my rMini. I wouldn't want any other tablet. It's the perfect size for my liking. The Air is nice, but the screen is way too big for a tablet. If I wanted a bigger screen to look at, I'd just go on my rMBP. The rMini is perfect for what I use it for - reading, playing games, watching movies/Netflix/YouTube vids, etc. It's the perfect iPad for my tastes!

Are you going to upgrade to the 3rd Gen Minimwhen it comes out?:apple:
