Preparing for Shipment

I ordered my BTO immediately following the event and it finally went to "Preparing for Shipment" a few minutes ago.

Ordered a 13" 2.4/256/16 on Wednesday afternoon with expedited shipping , still processing items :/

Hmmm, is that standard shipping? I went ahead and paid for the 'faster' shipping, as I am leaving on a trip on Wednesday. Hopefully the Tuesday AM is accurate...

I paid for standard shipping because I expected it to arrive early next week. I'm out of town during the week so as long as it got there by Thursday or Friday, it would not have mattered.

From what people have said, the expedited fee is not expedited shipping, but expedited processing. It could be a gimmick though because Apple has been pretty fast getting these out. Before the order was placed, they estimated shipping will be in 2-4 days: it was 2. They also estimated delivery at Oct 30-Nov1. It'll arrive by 10/30. That's not bad at all considering it's a build and ship from China and the order was placed at 3pm on a Tuesday.

Mine is expected to arrive by 4:30 on Wednesday so maybe you might get yours then.

Got my Time Capsule today - plugged it in and set it up already. That was fast and easy enough. Did a speedtest and it was 50MB UP/11MB down.

I think this has nothing to do with TC though. I'll have to wait until MBP gets here to test the speed.

Also, my cable modem has a built-in router. Do I really need to disable to wifi on it? I created a new network and ssid for TC.

My 15"/16/512/2.6 just changed to "Preparing for shipment"!!!?

Think it will ship tonight or tomorrow?

Ordered BTO around 7 P.M. on the 22nd,15"/2.6/512, went to preparing for shipment! Not my first MacBook Pro, but my first non-cheap base mac.

now at 72 hours since order, still "Processing items". wtf

Still processing 15" 2.6/16/1TB. Any chance it will ship out or prepare for shipping tonight?

Don't you worry, all. It's coming. I bet it'll be delivered on the earlier date range given.

how long do orders usually prepare for shipment?

my order has been "preparing for shipment" since late last night/early this morning (im in eastern canada).. since its 9am in shanghai should it be shipping soon?

Most likely we should start getting shipping emails around 3 AM Central time.

I see - I misunderstood your post then because it came off as if you thought it was pointless of him to post that.

It does sound odd that the expedited fee is not expedited shipping, but expedited processing. Very clever of Apple - lol.

It's all good ... bro's before macbookpro's !

Wow!!

MacBook Pro Retina-SPEECHLESS

This machine is freaking AWESOME!!!! I absolutely love the retina display....this is definitely a power-horse notebook!!!

Alright guys, well I guess this is it for me on this thread. I hope to see you guys in another thread in the future!!

Take care ;)

Apple needs to round up some college students to build our machines quicker, like Foxconn & PS4's.

I think a lot of ours are going to be on tonight's (shanghai's 12 hrs. ahead of Eastern time) FedEx flight. Can't wait any longer!

Just got "Preparing for Shipment" status here. Ordered 30 minutes after announcement last Tuesday. It's a 2.6/16Gb/512GB...

You might as well get the i7 too, make the best use of that extra ram.

Simple rule. Buy the highest spec you can afford regardless of use now. In 18 months time the highest spec now will be mid range or lower.

i7/16/256 :)

Yeah, that's what I was thinking of doing. I probably don't need more than 256, but that's different than maxing out on CPU/RAM.

Ordered Oct 22, after the announcement.

Still Processing. :(

I got my thunderbolt-to-dvi and magsafe2 adapter though. What a tease.

I ordered a 15"/2.6/512 about 5 hours after the U.S. store came back up. I paid for expedited shipping and still says thats it's being processed nearly 3 days after ordering. Do you guys think this is a card charge problem?

If there is any problem with Apple obtaining authorization, they will email you so you can contact your credit card company. Happened to me, and I just had to call the cc company and tell them that I made the charge.
