Anyone with the 15"/2.6 Ghz upgrade have theirs ship yet?

Mine went to 'shipped' and is now in Shanghai (15" maxed out, 2.6, 16GB, 1TB). Theoretically it will arrive Tuesday by 10:30AM (Colleyville, TX, just West of DFW airport). Not sure it will get out of China tonight, but.... I am 'assuming' there will be no updates at this point until it gets on a plane. If this is like the iPhone rollouts, and I expect it is, Apple likely has extra flights booked for this initial period to handle the extra shipments, so standard flight information may or may not be the norm.

It's fine, I have great patience. Besides I installed Mavericks today on my current MBP so that has given me something to keep me occupied.

Well, I just again checked local inventory on Apple.com and they got a bunch in the local store and it's already waiting for me to go in and pick it up.
I think it's BS Apple put our custom orders on a back burner.

I lose the tax savings but who knows when the new order would have soon shown up.

Yes I Know, I have no patience but I did get my Macbook Pro. :p

Nope but my bank card was just charged today. Hopefully something will happen soon :)

That typically means they are preparing for shipment now, you'll most likely see an update later on today.

Sadly, this has not happened for me yet :(

I have the same tracking as you for the same spec model. I'm pretty sure ours is about to land in the US somewhere... The "release" and "in transit" are just back office scans. The box actually left Shanghai at the "left Fedex" scan..

You need help. :D

You're just jealous!

No that's definitely not the emotion I'm feeling.

I wouldn't settle for less, I want the exact machine I wanted and I'm willing to wait a few days for it. You have less patience than my 2 year old.

I've been waiting since early this year, a few more days is a drop in the ocean to get the machine I want without compromises. And since it came out today that the 1TB SSD has 950Mb/s read/writes I'm very happy with my decision.

Once it's ready to be shipped, the specs don't affect the shipping time. BTO orders take longer to process and prepare to ship because they can't be pulled directly off a shelf of pre-built machines. That's why the default configs show "Available to ship within 24 hours" and the BTO options say 1-3 business days.
I agree on the first point but up be honest I don't get the "processing" thing: it's true you can't find the maxed configs in the stores.

How does the BTO work? Do they have these laptops with different CPUs and when the user choose RAM and SSD size they're automatically added to these laptops?

I said I would prove your statement wrong. "To me you seem like a person who constantly switches lines in a supermarket to get checked out faster only to keep entering slower queues."

I understand you wanting the 1T SSD but I don't need it and there wasn't a huge difference in performance from the 2.3 VS 2.6 speed so I didn't really need the BTO option.

I'm off to pick it up.

You spent all day switching from one supplier to another to prove a guy wrong over the internet? :p:D

a good story but a pointless waste of time since it will not get the computer in his hands any quicker . Dell and others always throw out the free next day shipping line but the bottom line is it will still get to you in the same amount of time:apple:

I don't understand your aggression, but whatever. OP is happy with the end result and even happier with Apple's resolution. He got a free superdrive out of it. Besides, who cares if you have to wait 1 or 2 extra days?

What's so critical/pathetic about a person's life that it causes them such distress to wait an extra day. I know we're all excited and anxious about getting a new machine, but don't rain on his parade. He's happy with the resolution and people are happy for him that he's saved another $80.

I ordered a 15"/2.6/512 about 5 hours after the U.S. store came back up. I paid for expedited shipping and still says thats it's being processed nearly 3 days after ordering. Do you guys think this is a card charge problem?

I am only trying to save people some $$$ so that they don't blow it on shipping that will not get them the product any faster

Mine shipped yesterday - I ordered the same unit as you at about 3pm on the 22nd. FedEx states Wednesday delivery.

Don't think so. I also ordered a 15"(dGPU)/2.6/12/512 right after the store came back up, I also paid by credit card (and the reserved charge showed up in my online banking immediately), and it is still being "processed". *impatient*

I see - I misunderstood your post then because it came off as if you thought it was pointless of him to post that.

It does sound odd that the expedited fee is not expedited shipping, but expedited processing. Very clever of Apple - lol.

I'm still confused on how that doesn't equate to receiving the order more quickly? I realize the two windows it gave were almost the same (when I was ordering, the standard shipping had estimated delivery of Oct 29-31 and the expedited had Oct 28-30), but even if it takes the same number of days to ship, if the order is processed more quickly and thus gets out the door faster, how is that a waste of money?

For example (using arbitrary numbers):
"Standard shipping" = 3 days for processing/building + 3 days for shipping = 6 days total
"Expedited shipping" = 2 days for processing/building + 3 days for shipping = 5 days total

What am I missing here?

Mine (maxed out 15") shipped out this morning, but shows an exception in the Fedex system. Looks like it was received after today's cutoff.

I have, the same tracking. If that's the case it's likely on FDX90 just over Alaska right now headed to Memphis, which left at about the right time to match the "in transit" tracking info.

That is exactly what happened to me. I had to call my CC company to allow the charge to go through (even though I anticipated this happening and called them the date I placed the order--but apparantly that did not make a difference). Anyhow, I resubmitted the payment via Apple.com and its still in the "Processing" stage. Delivery date did not change. Expecting it between 29th-31st. Best part is I am off for 5 days starting the 30th! I will be in heaven!

Hmmm, is that standard shipping? I went ahead and paid for the 'faster' shipping, as I am leaving on a trip on Wednesday. Hopefully the Tuesday AM is accurate...

My order did same thing so I canceled the BTO yesterday and just picked one up in the apple store.

LOL

Yes, impatient and immature go well together.
Just unboxed it.
